Wedding bells ring out for two area couples Wedding bells were ringing out on the weekend for Bill Scott and Shannon Durnin who were married in Trinity United Church on. Friday. Rod Crich and Joan Kikkert ex- changed wedding vows in Lucknow United Church on Saturday. Both wedding receptions were held in the Lucknow Community Centre. Congratulations! Jeff and Kristi Gammie are busy moving into the home they pur- chased on Campbell St, from the W innifred Fisher Estate. Gordon and Shirley Brooks visited Roy and Jean Teeft at Brus- sels on Sunday. They recently moved there from Dunnville. Mrs. Teeft was the former Jean Culbert of Lucknow: Congratulations to Eldon and Alene Bradley who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Satur- day with a dinner at the Legion for family and friends. Sympathy is extended to Isabel Ritchie and family in the passing of Wes Ritchie, in Wingham Hospital, last week. The Ritchies would have been married 70 years next June. Last week in the Lucknow Pres- byterian , Church Lee Drennan became a member by Profession of Faith. This Sunday the Sacrament of Communion was observed as well as the commencement of the advent season with the lighting of the Candle of Hope in the Advent Wreath. Jeff and Dayle Taylor and family performed this ceremony. A new program for advent is a Monday morning walk for 30 minutes starting at the church and ending back at the church for cof- fee. Anyone that would like fresh air and fellowship is welcome 'to join in this walk. . White Gift Sunday was observed in Lucknow United Church when gifts of food were collected for Christmas for the less fortunate, by members of the Sunday School and, • LUCKNOW by Mildred Lnree congregation. Last week's news regarding the dedication of a new Memorial Book at the Lucknow United Church, in memory of Elleda Wightman, should have read that Elvin Wightrnan of Niagara explained how the Heart Niagara Cardiac Rehab Class had become interested in his mother and wanted to remember her. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hackett, of Cochrane, Ontario, visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cook and Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Hackett, and with Cleta Holland of Clinton, Mr. Hackett grows strawberries and potatoes and reports a very wet and cool summer. His father, the late George Hackett, was Potato King many years ago. Winners at the recent St. Helen's shoot party were Elaine Errington, Evelyn Phillips, Ross Errington and Bruce Raynard. Belle Mole had the most shoots. Next party is Dec. 7. Marj Coultes and Jim Coultes were high lady and gent during shoot play at the Drop in Centre on Nov. 26. Rita Gilmore and Tom Culbert were in the low positions with Richard Grant taking the most shoots.
