do well at competition
Recently, members of the Tyndall
Karate School made their annual
bus trip to Welland for the Shorinju
Karate Championships.
There were 28 students and black
belts from the club and better than
a dozen spectators at the tour-
nament.
This year was a particularly
special event as O'sensei Richard
Kim was in attendance and all of
the students had an' opportunity to
see and meet him in person. He is
the highest degree black belt in the
Butokukai outside of Japan.
The following are the students'

Bereaved parents, family and
friends of the Dungannon com-
munities were brought closer
together when a large crowd at-
tended the Angel Tree lighting at
the Kinsmen Park last Friday
evening.
Debbie Bauer • welcomed
everyone.. Rev. Robert Ball, of
North Street United Church,
Goderich, officiated. During the
service everyone held lighted
candles that glowed in the dark.
Louise Martin read "Do Not Weep"
and Bernice Glenn read "I'm Fre8".
The names of 53 deceased
children of the community were
read, each represented by the
lighting of a white light on the
Angle tree. Each light represented
the clear and pure love between
parent and child, a bond held strong
, even in death.
Red lights were lit next, symbolic
of the blood and love that will
always be shared with brothers and
sisters. Next, the yellow lights,
representing the sunlight these
children have brought to their proud
and loving grandparents. This was
followed by the green and blue
lights which are the deep and color-
ful parts of the children's lives
which were shared by their ex-
tended families - aunts, uncles,
cousins and all those who loved
them.
The star symbolizes a strong and
shining beacon to light the
children's pathway home to the
heavens; the red bows ties of
friendship which shall remain stead-
fast now and forever.
The Lord's Prayer was recited
and Silent Night, Holy Night was
sung.
The tree will serve as a living and
growing monument to the children
in our community who have died.
As :the tree grows, 'so too will the
anticipation of seeing our children
again.
Sincere thanks to everyone. who
helped. You are all invited to visit
the Kinsmen Park, Dungannon, to
see the beautiful Angel Tree. We
apologize for any names missed.
Please call 529-7820 if your name
wasn't included.

Ice Demons win one, lose two
On Nov. 23, the PeeWeek team
started a busy week with a game in
Kincardine.
Kincardine 3 jumped into an early

lead with another two goals.
In the third period Lucknow
struck back, when a shot from the
point by John VanDiepenbeek as-
sisted by Jason Pritchard, hit the
twine. Second effort by Jeff
Cranston paid off as he poked the
puck into the net, assisted by
Nathan Knorr. However, that was
the only scoring the strong Kincar-
dine defence would allow as they
went on to win the game with the
final score Kincardine 6, Lucknow
3.

PEE WEE
Lucknow tied the game with a
goal by Chris Tabor, assisted by
Jason Pritchard but after that Ripley
took control of the game to score
five times.
In the third, it 'looked like Luck -
now might make a come back as
Andy Evans scored twice; once on
a scramble out front assisted by Jeff
Cranston and Pritchard, and again
after picking up Taylor Mali's
rebound, Cranston also earning an
assist.
Lucknow's third goal of the
period was scored on a passing play
by Daryl Aitchison assisted by John
VanDiepenbeek and Pritchard.
Before the end of ' the game
Ripley was able to add another to
their lead. Final score Ripley 7,

Lucknow vs Kincardine

highlight for the Lucknow team was
a hat trick by Daryl Aitchison as-
sisted by Jason' Pritchard, Richard
Walke and John VanDiepenbeek. •

16 to 3. Maybe it's time "the
powers that be" reviewed this team
to seeif it belongs in this House
League Division.
Lucknow vs Wingham
On Sunday, Lucknow made a trip
to Wingham and played their best
hockey so far this year. Solid goal-

aggressive work of the forwards
showed that this team is capable of
playing good hockey.
in the first period Daryl Aitchison
scored when he knocked the puck
down and shoveled it past the Win-
gham goalie. This was the only goal
of the game as Lucknow's tw,'o
goalies Clinton Gunter and Justin
Brown earned their first shut out of
the year.

You're not alone. We'd like to send you information about how
Canada manages its nuclear fuel waste and on a concept for deep

through a joint Canada/Ontario program, have conducted
research into permanent -disposal of nuclear fuel waste deep in the rock
of the Canadian Shield. The concept is currently being assessed under
the Environmental Assessment and Review Process (EARP).
