Lang - McKim -Lang - Gerard and
Lori are pleased to announce. the
birth of their 8 lbs. 2 oz. son, Ian,
on Nov. 15, 1993, at K -W Hospital.
Proud grandparents are Karl and
Loma Lang, Teeswater and Roy
and Carroll Castle of Pon Colborne.
Ian is a grandson of the late Dr.
Jack McKim.
McGugan - Ed and Karen, of R.R.
3, Holyrood, take pleasure in an-
nouncing the blessing of another
daughter. Laura Elizabeth arrived
on Nov. 15, 1993 at A.M. & G.H.
Goderich, weighing 8 lbs. 5 oz. She
is a welcomed addition for sister,
Heather and brothers, Brian and
Alexander. Pleased grandparents are
Brian and Alice Doelman of Rapid
City, and Nell ; McGugan of
Komoka.
Cluney - Purdon
Kendra Ann, Purdon, of Toronto
and Bruce Robert Cluney, of
Toronto were unitedin marriage
on Oct. 16, 1993, at Chalmers
Presbyterian Church,
Whitechurch. Rev. John Neilson
officiated with Father Nevett
assisting. Kendra is the daughter
of Mildred and Archie Purdon,.
R.R. 3, Wingham. Bruceis the
son of Marie and Reg Cluney of
Halifax, Nova Scotia. Special
attendees . at the wedding were
nieces and nephews of the bride:
Jacklin Falconer, Megan
Scheeringa, Orie Falconer, Corine
Falconer, and Devan' Scheeringa.
Readers were Lorie Falconer, of
Blyth, a sister of the bride; Mark'
Cluney of Halifax, brother of the
groom. Ushers were Kathy
Scheeringa, of Elmira, sister of
the bride and Joan Cluney,
Halifax, sister of the groom. Din-.
ner and a reception followed at
the Benmiller Inn. Following a
honeymoon in Portugal, the
newlyweds took up residence at
455 Glen Lake Avenue, Toronto.

Couple visits grandparents
on way back to Victoria
Lillian and Craig Riegling had a
short visit with grandparents Fran
and Carl Riegling and Sara Ritchie,
as well as other relatives in the
area. They have been stationed in
Halifax for the past 18 months and
were on their way back to Victoria,
B.C. where Craig is in the navy.
We welcome (Lenora (Dolly)
Johnstone) back to Lucknow from
Sarnia. She moved into the Glenn
Haven apartments last week. With
her arrival Charlie Webster now has
all his family back in Lucknow.
Other new arrivals at the
apartments are Mr. and Mrs. J. K.
O'Regan from Fisherman's Cove.
In the Lucknow United Church on
Sunday morning a new Memorial
Book was dedicated in loving
memory of Elleda Wightman, a
former faithful member of the
church, This gift was donated by
the Heart Niagara Cardiac Rehab
Class and Norman Wightman of
Niagara explained to the
congregation how this class that he
was a part of had become interested
in his mother and wanted to
remember her. Sunday Sunshine
provided the special music for the
service.
In the Lucknow Presbyterian
Church Sunday morning the

Sacrament of Baptism was ad-
ministered to Shawn, infant son of
Brian and Kathy Elphick.
Dorothy Brown had the misfor-
tune of falling and fracturing her
hip on Thursday evening. On Sun-
day she was being transferred from
Wingham to Stratford Hospital for
treatment. We wish her a speedy
recovery.
Gordon and Bernice Johnstone
visited Sunday with Evelyn Little at
Trillium Court, Kincardine.
Over 225 people attended the
Chamber of Commerce dinner and
dance ori Saturday evening in the
Community Centre. Rick Passmore,
Lucknow D.J., provided the music
for dancing. A raffle, for prizes
donated by .area businesses, was
held during the evening.
Ina Farrish and Tom Culbert. were
the high shoot players at the Drop
in Centre on Friday, when eight
tables were in play. In low positions
were Mary Lavis and ' Gordon
Johngton. Teresa Courtney had the
most shoots.
New 4-H club starts
On Nov. 6, the 4-H Safety First
club held a successful achievement
night'.
Animal Friends
The group has now 'moved on to
another club called Animal Friends.
Chrisy Hatherly is president, Josh
Leeman vice, Jennifer Weber
secretary, press reporter Michelle
Congram and Valerie Weber the
telephone convener. A new member
to the club is Kim Harper.
Members talked about the type
and age of animals they have, and
what they do for them on a regular
basis, Each member shared what
they viewed as their favourite
animal, and how they would care
for it.
At the Nov.' 13 meeting discus-
sion centered on project ides and
'project animals, and the respon-
sibilities of pet owners, in deter-
mining if they have enough room to
have a pet and which food is best.
T 'o guest speakers shared their
knowledge on Siberian Huskies,
which start at $160, and Chinchillas
which are worth $25 to $100.
4.-H NEWS
On Nov. 20, the 4-H club Animal
Friends had a lengthy discussion on
understanding your animal's 'need
for food, proper. nutrients and food,
and good and bad treats for your
pet. They also learned how poor
nutrition can cause problems and
the importance of enough exercise.
The group thanks their guest
speaker from Shade J. Stables who
talked about breeding horses.
Donnybrook 4-H
The Donnybrook 4-H club is in
the process of making Christmas
crafts. They made boxes out of
cards, origami stars, small hats out
of string and angels out of old
tinsel.
Kim Fielder demonstrated how to
make tree ornaments.
They also tried their hands at
making Santa Clauses and Becky'
deBoer showed how to string pop-
corn.
St. Helen's ' WI members
donate to Feed the World
"Bread isthe symbol of home,
hope and hospitality" was the motto e of the Nov. 16 meeting of the St.,,
Helen's Women's Institute. Muriel
Moffat read some humorous quotes
out of a Kitchen Garden bOolc'on
how two young boys staked an
organic garden at Barrow Bay.
President Caroline Menary gave a
humorous reading.
Florence McConnell was pianist
for the Opening Ode.
Members greed to send .75 per
member to Feed the World. Items
were -brought -for -Friendship -House--
in
ere- broughtfor-Friendship--House--
in Goderich.
Hostesses Isabel Gaunt and Agnes
Lyons served lunch during a social
time.
The next meeting is Dec. 7 at
12:30 for pot luck Christmas
dinner. A card party will follow that
evening.
