have hectic
weekend
It was a • busy weekend for the
Lucknow Juveniles who played
three games.
On Friday night, Allan Kikkert
stood between the pipes when the
team visited Teeswater.
r Both teams racked up 30 minutes
in penalties as the officials stayed
in control of the game.
Adrian Rau opened the scoring
from Steve Adams and Duane
Porter giving Lucknow the lead
after one period of play. The
second Lucknow gaol came from
Brad Rhody assisted by Matt Dren-
nan.
Teeswater added two more in the
second to take a 3 to 2 win.
Mildmay vs Lucknow
On home ice on Saturday, it was
a close game, but Lucknow lost a
two goal lead early in the game to
allow Mildmay a 5 to 4 win.
II Lucknow vs Ripley
Sunday afternoon's game in
Ripley saw Donnie Cullierier
dressed for the net as the three
regular goalies were away. Ripley
won .the game despite some good
glove saves by Cullierier.
Atoms come
up a wee bit
short again
On Nov. 16, the Lucknow Atom
A team travelled . to Ripley and
came up short by one marker for
the third game in a row. this season.
Ripley opened'the scoring early,
but Russell Marin matched it by the
end of the period. Jonathan Drennan
and Chad Foster got credit for
' feeding. the puck to the net on this
goal.
In the. second, Ripley again went
ahead as Lucknow seemed to have
problems getting organized.
At the 12:53 mark of the third.
Chris. Hackett found the right spot
on a pass from Paddy Lyon and
Adam Chilton to tie up the score.-
Ripley didn't stop until they had
two more quick ones.
Paddy Lyon tucked a nice one in
to bring the score closer. The final
score was.4 to 3 for Ripley.
Lucknow showed good effort in
the third to hold the score tight.

Bantams lose and tie
The Lucknow Bantam A team
met with Ripley for the second time
on Nov. 15.
While Lucknow appeared a little
disorganized early to the fust
period, Ripley went ahead by one
goal.
Despite some excellent chances in
Ripley's end, during the second, the
period remained scoreless.
Tyler Brooks played well in net
for Lucknow to hold his team in the
game and keep Ripley from any
more points.
More aggressive play by Luck -
now in the third period seemed to
put Ripley off their game, but
Lucknow still couldn't get one over
the goal crease.
A well -played game remained a 1
- 0 win for Ripley.

water.
Teeswater scored four goals in the
first period to Lucknow's two. Ed
Courtney scored fust from Jeff
Porter, then Glenn Ferguson from
Kevin Rintoul and Colin Becker
added the second goal for Lucknow.
The second period opened with
Lucknow down two goals. Rintoul
scored from Ferguson and Becker,
and Porter scored from Ferguson.
Teeswater dumped another one in
to hold onto a •one goal lead.
Lucknow's team effort held Tees -
water off the scoreboard. They
added one themselves to tie the
game with 1:20 left to play. The
clock ran out and the game
remained tied at five. Fewer penal-
ties handed out produced a fast -
paced game.
Novice goalies duel it out
The Lucknow Novice A team
travelled to Drayton on Saturday for
their first road game of the season.
Right from the first faceoff the
game was action -packed.
Both 'teams opened up quickly
and the large ice surface tested
Lucknow's skating skills. The op-
posing teams were matched petty
well and it became apparent that
goaltending was going to be a big
deciding factor in the game. Luck -
now goalie Billy Johnston made
some key saves and after the first
period the scoreboard remained
dark.
Early in the second period,
Johnston continued to ,rob the
Drayton offence of scoring chances.
Lucknow spent considerable time in
the Drayton end thoroughly testing
the Drayton netminder and after the
second 10 -minute period, the score
remained at zero.
SPORTS
Finally at 2:12 into the third,
Lucknow's Tyler Hamilton found a
hole and opened the scoring on a
setup by Jeff McNee. For the last
five minutes Lucknow continued to
pummel the Drayton goalie but to
no avail.
In the last minute, Drayton looked
strong, having pulled the goalie for
a sixth attacker. In the end though,
Lucknow's defence and goalie
Johnston were rewarded with a
shutout.
Final score Lucknow 1, Drayton
0.
Great game team. Good luck next
week in Howick.
Novice, B provide excitement
On Thursday night, the Novice
house league, was defeated by Bel-
more with a score of 7 to 4.
Jesse Johnston netted the first
goal, followed by Luke Van Osch
with the second. Belmore scored on
their own net, Luke Van Osch came
back to score the final goal in an
exciting game.
Saturday saw the team play a
disappointing game against
Belgrave. Derek Quinlan scored the
only goal, unassisted. The team was
defeated 10 to 1.
