These past weeks we observed
Remembrance and Peace Day.
intermediate and junior students
participated in the activities at the
cenotaph: A special thanks to the
School Band and trumpets ensemble
led by Mrs. De Boer. Students'
Council representatives Marcella
Kranenburg and Jessica Sterner laid
the school wrath at the cenotaph to
remember the people who have
fought for our freedom..
To reaffirm our commitment to
co-operative problem solving a
Peace Day was held on Wednesday,
Nov. 17. A gallery walk through
the gym displayed the school -wide
activities. Each grade was
represented in a variety of ways.
Posters, signs, friendship bracelets,
class books, murals, collages, let-
ters, plays, pledges, songs and
artwork were seen.
Mrs. Black's Grade 6 class wrote
their own alphabetical °slogans for
"Make Peace not War."

B Make brotherhood not war.
C Make decisions not war.
E Make education not war.
F Make freedom not war.
G Make gratitude not war.
H Make harmony not war.

Many new activities are underway
at LCPS. The girls' and boys' vol-
leyball teams have been practising.
Nature Club, has built and installed
bat houses and bird houses in our
birch trees to ensure that there are
safe homes for "Batman" and
"Robin". Craft, reading and
aerobics clubs have recently begun.

council will be selling tickets, 500
each, for a chance to win a box of
groceries comprising a complete
Christmas dinner. Tickets will be
on sale in the school during report
card interviews Dec. 2 and 3 and
before the Christmas Concert on
Dec. 14.
The annual Christmas Scholastic
Book Fair will be at the school
from Nov. 25 until Dec. 3. There is
an excellent selection of books
available. Grandparents and mem-
bers of the community are welcome
to come and browse. It will be open
the evening of Dec. 2. Circle your
