Correction
Last week's story about the
various area road departments
gearing up for winter should have
stated that Ashfield Township has
115 miles of roads to be maintained
during the winter. The road superin-
tendent, Kevin Cook, on an alter-
nating basis with the full time
operators, patrols the roads to deter-
mine if the plows should go out.
Ashfield in fact has four part time
operators.
The Sentinel apologizes for any
embarrassment or inconvenience
caused by the errors.

cy phone system for Bruce and
Grey is going off track.
Paul Eagleson wants to know why
Grey county is going ahead with its'
own rural numbering system when
Bell Canada officials told Bruce
council that both counties must
have an integrated system to num-
ber rural addresses before 911 can
be introduced.
Eagleson didn't get a clear answer
to his question at the November 16
Bruce County council meeting, but
was toldthat Bruce County is still
looking into rural numbering, and
911 to find the best system and the
best way to cover the cost it invol-
ves.
"It has gone off track as far as
I'm concerned," Eagleson said. He
thought both counties were waiting
fora pilot project on subscTiber-
funded '911 service before taking
any further steps. •
"I don't know why Grey has
rushed into this."
Eagleson speculated Grey maybe
in for a surprise if it goes to the
expense of numbering its rural
addresses, then finds ` Bell won't
install • 911 until„ Bruce is ready to
be included.

with particular reference to the
role of churches. Between 1985
and 1988, the Task Group
researched, wrote and tested an
educational kit, with input from
theological educators and
resource people working on
issues of family violence across
Canada The kit was intended for
use in theology schools and in
continuing the education of the
clergy, with a shorter one
prepared for use in
congregations • and the com-
munity.
• The WICC is committed to
encouraging both clergy and lay
people within the church to play
an active role in alleviating
violence ' in the home. Back-
ground information from the
WICC says, "Often, we have
heard of instances in which
Biblical passages and scriptural
interpretations have been used in
ways that are oppressive tc
women experiencing violence it
their homes and relationships:
We seek the liberating resources
in our Christian tradition, which
affirm women." •
It is the hope and vision of the
task group that "We may' address
the roots of family violence and
the systems and structures which.
support and maintain it."
