Dungannon WI
members gain'
a lot from
organization
Fourteen members of the
Dungannon Women's Institute
told how WIs had helped them,
during the Nov. 3 meeting at
Dora Alton's. Some members
answered the many •nice people
they have. met, friendships they
have established, places they
have visited as a group, short
courses they have shared, and 4-
H clubs they have sponsored.
Some joined to take advantage
of the family insurance -plan.
Also the Institute is inter-
denominational with all faiths
welcome.
Donna Yough and Wiletta
McWhinney put on a skit about
a couple returning from church
where the minister preached that
"he that is slow to anger is
better than the mighty." The
husband driving tried to keep
this in mind as his wife talked
on about his driving mistakes.
Donna with "Cultural
Activities" : observed that all
history was once current events
and brought a scrapbook
containing news pictures of the
First World War and song books
from years gone past. Also on
display were pictures of English
immigrants leaving jobs that
didn't require much work to sod
shantys here where they had to
learn how to mace a living off
the land by working long, hard
hours.
Donna also had a display of
money of different countries
A Chinese auction followed by
lunch was enjoyed by all.
