Holyrood WI sponsors Pemembrance service
The annual Remembrance Day
Service,,sponsored by the Holyrood
Women's Institute, was held at the
hall with Joan Murray presiding.
She welcomed a good attendance.
Lorraine MacPherson was pianist
and the service began with 0
Canada and the placing of the
wreaths by Kathleen Thacker and
Jim Boyle. Two minutes silence
was observed and all joined in
singing 0 God our help in ages
past.
Jim Boyle, reeve of Kinloss
Township, brought greetings and
spoke on why we gather together
each year on Remembrance Day.

introduced the guest speaker, Pastor
Robert Donnan, who gave a most
inspiring message. Imelda Murray
thanked the pastor and presented
him with a gift in appreciation.
Pastor Donnan is in charge of the
Kinlough Pentecostal Church.
Lorraine MacPherson and Barbara
Bushell sang a suitable duet fol-
lowed by the hymn 0 God of Love,
0 King of Peace.
Joan Murray thanked all who took
part and the service closed with
singing God save the Queen.
Pastor Robert Donnan was the
guest speaker at the Ripley Senior
Citizens' Remembrance service on
Friday- afternoon; at the Legion
Hall. It was their regular program
as well as the Remembrance

to look after each others mental •
health and try not to push away
others and make fun of others
because of mental illness. A
positive outlook and sensitivity to
the needs of ourselves and others
help to keep us all mentally healthy.

Ripley, were Wednesday evening
dinner guests with Edna and May
Boyle.
We extend sympathy to the
relatives of the late Ed Green, of St.
Helens, and formerly of Con. 10
who passed away' in the Wingham
and District Hospital. The remains
rested at the MacKenzie McCreath
Funeral Home, Lucknow, where the
funeral was held on Sunday after-
noon with burial in Greenhill
Cemetery,
Dinner guests recently at Lorraine
and Bill McPherson's were Mr. and
Mrs, Dean Wilson of Stoney Creek,
who were on their way to Florida.

The marriage of Gwendolyn
Elaine Tanner and Edward
Robert teltaa took place Aug. 28,
1993 at Knox Presbyterian
Church, Walkerton. Rev. Andrew
Human officiated at the
ceremony. • The bride is the
daughter of Morley and Marjorie
Tanner of R.R. 1 Elmwood. The
groom is the son of Gerry and
Alice teRaa of R.R. 1, Ripley. The
bride's sister, Ann Tanner, was
matron of honor. The brides-
maids were Irene teRaa, sister of
the groom and Janice Reid, a
cousin of the bride. Jun Jurjens,
a friend of the groom, was the
best man. The ushers were Reg
Tanner, a brother of the bride,
and Ken TeRaa, a brother of the
groom. The wedding dinner and
reception was held at the Agricul-
ture Society Hall. Following a trip
to British Columbia and Banff,
Alberta, they are Ire`siding in
Kitchener. The couple are both
graduates of . the University of
Waterloo. Ed graduated in May
1993 with a Bachelor of Applied
Science Degree and is presently
working on a Masters of Applied
Science M.A. Sc at the University
of Waterloo. Gwen graduated in
October 1992 with a Bachelor of
Mathematics degree, ' and is
employed with Prudential As-
surance in Kitchener. .
