A fast -paced first period had considerable end-to-end action. Very quickly Lucknow • set their sights on spending their time in the Wallace end zone trying to get on the scoreboard. The few times that Wallace broke out of their zone, they were unable to get around Lucknow 's goaltender Billy Johnston. After a scoreless first period, Wallace continued 'o be robbed of goals on several breakaways early in the second. Lucknow then took a penalty which really stepped up the pace in their own favor as they put additional pressure on the Wallace netminder. Having successfully killed the penalty, Jeff McNee, at 8:10, put one away assisted by Brad Gilchrist and Nigel Black to open . N OVICE . the scoring. Early in the third, it was obvious Lucknow was really winding up. At 1:02, Adam Martin found a hole in the Wallace net with assists from Ricky Andrew and Shea Dickie. Twelve seconds later the next line made it 3 to 0 with Tyler Hamil- ton's goal assisted by Bob Raymond and Tim Eadie. Wallace fought back with several charges and finally slipped one past the Lucknow posts. During the balance of the game, Lucknow did a good job of keeping the play in the Wallace end. Their strong offence combined with Johnston's goal keeping' skills lead the team to their first win of the season.
