Two hundred people took ad=
vantage of the open house at Glenn
Haven Apartments, on the weekend,
to tour Lucknow's newest
apartment living facility.
Beautiful landscaping welcomes
residents and visitors alike to the
building located on Albert Street.
The 16 unit building offers one
and two bedroom units all with
outdoor patios. Some of the tenants
in two bedrooms are using the
smaller bedroom as a den. Other
features of the building include a
large common room equipped with
a gas fireplace, TV, Couch, love
seat, four tables and chairs, and
kitchen facilities. It will be a joy
for those living in the apartments to
use this room for entertaining.
Laundry facilities are provided in
a • common area for those who
choose not to have their own.
A separate games room includes
hairdressing facilities in the form of
a wash station and two chair style
hair dryers.
The building is wheelchair acces-
sible and has a security entrance.
Apartment.dwellers' nail . is
delivered tthe premises.
Gerrie Glenn, owner of the
apartment building, said almost all
of the units are rented. He plans to
start construction on an additional
eight units at the west end of the
current structure on Apr. 1, 1994.
Ron and Donna Crich, of Luck -
now, are the managers of the buil-
ding. They have the only second
floor unit as their residence '
Mr. Glenn also' owns an
apartment complex in Exeter, which
started out with eight units and has
grown to, 57 today.

Foleyt, near Timmins, from
Thyrsday, Oct. 7 to Saturday, Oct.
16. They were lucky to bring home
a moose.
Dungannon is celebrating Hal-

You didn't know who would be the
winners until the last bat. In thc
sixth game the Phillics were ahead
six to Toronto's five going into the
bottom of the ninth. When Joe
Carter hit a home run with two outs
and two on base all Canada was
cheering. Jays - we are proud of
ydu.
A controlled deer hunt opens in
Huron and Bruce Counties on Mon-
day, Nov. 1..
Hopefully all dogs and cats were
vaccinated against rabies this past
week in Huron and Bruce Counties.
Several from this area attended
the Christmas County Fair held at
the Saltford Valley Hall on
Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
A consignment auction sale of
over 100 tractors, farm equipment
and miscellaneous items was held at
the Brindley Sales Yard Dungannon
on Saturday. A good crowd of
interested bidders attended and sales

Theresa (Courtney) Comack .and
daughter Andrea, of Burlington, and
Andrea's friend Erin Smith, of
Hamilton,, visited on Saturday with
the formers' uncle Joe and Teresa
Courtney, and the many Courtney
relatives in this area. •
Looks like 'Jim Pentland's dual
purpose barn/shed is near
completion. His barn was destroyed
by fire on July 30. '

Frank Pentland on Saturday were
Irma and Allan Reed of Port Col-
borne, followings the wedding of
their grandson Jeff Stanley at the
Pine • River United Church: • Jeff is
the son of Jewell (Reed) and Del-
mar Stanley. The reception was
held at the Davidson Centre,
•• cardine. Also attending were Jim
and Marina Reed of Dungannon
and Graham and Eleanor

Family to all be together in Strat-
ford at the home of Diane and
Garry Ladouceur. Present were their
daughters Nicole and Shariesse, as

Goderich.

United Church, Sunday at 11. a.m.

the local church with a
Thanksgiving theme. President .
Donna Young, with the call to
Christ, opened the worship service,
assisted by Beth Dickson and Mar-
garet Errington who were elegantly
gowned in pink and blue. These
gowns were designed by Ruth
Hayden mother of Beth Dickson, a
Km- touch of class was added with
ladies hats and stoles.

Errington attended a welcome for
Margaret'S great nephew Quinnlan
Blackmore in Cambridge, 'and on
Sunday attended the.156th Anniver-
sary of Saint Luke's United Church.
Stella McCormick has returned
from a five day stay at the
Goderich Hospital.
Sunday visitors with Bob and
Doreen McCormick were her sister
and brother-in-law, Lulu and' Car-
man Kaye, of Palmerston.
Philip ,and Pauli Sommer, of
'Sommer Studio, welcomed- 'ap-
proximately 120, visitors to their
Glass Studio Oct. 16 and I7. They
were participants in a Huron Coun-
ty wide "Artists at Work" studio
tour. Although thc Sommer's Glass
Studio has never had a official
.opening it has quietly become a
fixture on Dungannon's main street
and interested people arc welcome
to visit. • • ;h

Thanksgiving was postponed for
Brindley.'
Frank Pentland had a record
breaking score of 88 at Dungannon
Senior Citizen Wednesday night
euchre. Ila Pollock, Tom and
Deloris Culbert were also prize
winners. •

President Jean Phillips presided at
the United Senior Citizens of On-
tario Rally held in the Londesboro
Community Hall on Oct. 20. It was
her pleasure to introduce guest
speaker Marian Zinn, who gave a
slide presentation of floral scenes
from her travels abroad.
Past president Margaret Swan
expressed thc appreciation of 130
members' present. Margaret Swan
was the recipient of a jewelled pin,
in appreciation for her term of
office.
Lunch was served by the host
Club followed by euchre - and a
magnitude of prizes and draws.
