canvass for the Arthritis Society
raised $292. Canvassers were Mary

institute's 65th anniversary since

Christian based program for young
girls. Canadian Girls in Training is
a place where girls can meet with
caring leaders to grow in the their
faith and learn confidence in
decision-making for their lives.

quilt pattern.
Mrs. Tiffin gave the motto "goals
are like stars, they may never be
reached, but they can always be a
guide."
Guests were present from St.
Helen's, Wingham and Kairshea.
A group of Kairshea ladies sang
two numbers and Mrs. Hamilton, of
Wingham, gave a reading.
The guest speaker was Isobel
Underwood of Southampton, who
showed pictures of quilts and gave
some history on them. Different
members had arranged a quilt
display in the hall.
Mrs. Tiffin gave two readings on
quilting.
An anniversary cake was on
display. Gertrude Durnin is a
charter member of the WI.
A social time and lunch brought
the meeting to a close.
The next Meeting is Nov. 10 at 6
p.m. with a pot luck supper.

a 10 -day visit with his brother, Tom
MacDonald and family in Fort
Nelson, British Columbia.
Gordon, Nora and Glen Robb had
their Thanksgiving dinner on Sun-
'day in ,Chesley with Bob and
Sandra Darling and family.
Gordon and Nora Robb enjoyed a
five day Holiday when they took a
bus trip to Fremont, Vermont. They
enjoyed their trip very much.
On Thanksgiving, . Dorothy. Fin-
layson had Barbara Rogerson and
Alan Finlayson of Toronto, and
sisters Kae Cunningham of Toronto
and Edith Goodram of Hamilton
visit.
On Thanksgiving weekend Charlie
and Mayme Wilkins entertained 35
guests, family and friends. Besides
Thanksgiving the family was also
celebrating Barbara's and Charlie's
birthdays and also Charlie and
Mayme's , wedding anniversary.
