$2 lower at the Brussels Livestock
last week. Cows were selling $1
lower.
On Sept. 27, the Third Annual
Show and Sale was held with 423
steers and 107 heifers on offer.

for getting them to Alberta

Alberta Bound Report
"Alberta Bound" took place July
10-18, 1993. The First Ripley
Scout Troop wish to thank the
communities and their people for
the overwhelming support they gave
the group. • The boys were
spellbound by the Canadian Jam-
boree held in Kananaskis Country,
Alberta. The Ripley Scouts par-
ticipating in the event were: Kraig
Bell, Chris Cortan, Rob Emmerton,
Cheyne McCormick, Scott
McGuire, and leaders Robert Goul-
ding and Kevin Reid.
Some events the Scouts par-
ticipated in were BMX Biking,
Mountain Biking, 10 Km mountain
hike, roller blading, Snowshoeing,
sing-alongs, skill training, outdoor
cooking, friendship trading, badge
trading, panning for gold, Calgary
stampede, and the Calgary Science

these two gentlemen for taking time
from work to accompany the boys.
Amalgamation
The Township of Huron and the
village of Ripley amalgamation
committee invite everyone to an
open house to discuss the proposed
"Ripley -Huron" amalgamation on
Thursday, Oct. 7 at the , Ripley -
Huron Community Centre from
7:30 - 9:30 p.m. and on Saturday,
Oct. 9 at the Point Clark Com-
munity Centre from 1:30 - 3:30
p.m. All residents from -both com-
munities are encouraged to attend.,
School contains 30 teaching
spaces, lab and chapel

The new St. Michael Catholic
Secondary School contains 30
teaching spaces, a double gym,
communications lab, and a main
floor chapel. The library -resource
centre joins the two schools and
will be used by all students. ,
The facility also includes a
childcare centre operated by the
Stratford -Perth Family YMCA and
a media centre for the Perth County,
Board of Education. •
Conferences and seminars could
be heid at the site because it. has
meeting rooms, food service facil-
ities, washrooms, audio-visual
equipment, and parking.
The' SERC site has the facilities'
to host major sports tournaments
including soccer, rugby, track and—
field, softball fastball, tennis and
other activities.
The complex was built with con-
siderable cost savings by sharing
land and buildings in as many ways
as possible. The plan to share
encouraged the province of Ontario
to provide • additional incentive
grants.
