World Communion was
celebrated at South Kinloss Pres-
byterian Church on Sunday. This
was a combined worship service
with Lucknow Presbyterian Church
Children from both congregations
participated in activities in
preparation for Thanksgiving next
Sunday.
The senior children made a
Thanksgiving tree using brown
paper grocery bags.
The younger children traced the
shape of their hands onto construc-
tion paper. On these hands, they
printed something for which they
were thankful. The hands were cut
out, and hung from the
Thanksgiving tree to represent
leaves. A small branch from a real
tree was placed in a bucket of sand,
and some of these `special leaves'
were hung from it as well. This
Thanksgiving tree was taken to the

ways."

The Youth Group of the Lucknow
and South Kinloss Presbyterian
Churches held a successful car rally
on Sunday.
This rally was called a shunpikers
Mystery Tour and the destination
was Camp Kintail.
Eighteen cars registered for the
tour and this represented over 60
people ranging in' age from seniors
to young children.
Upon arrival at the camp, Rev.
Ian McWhinnie from Knox Pres-
byterian Church in Goderich enter-
tained the Shunpikers with campfire
songs by the fireplace in Mac-
Donald Lodge.
A highlight of the afternoon was
the official ribbon -cutting ceremony
for the `Lucknow Room' in the
lodge. This is a room which the
Youth Group had redecorated and
furnished. The group had been
raising money for this project over
the past few years and were able to
complete it this past summer. The
events of the day ended .with a
spaghetti supper served in the
dining hall in MacDonald Lodge.
.Donations received from the
Shunpikers will be put towards the
purchase of new gas stoves for the
kitchen at the camp.

to -day experiences in the morning
workshop. In the afternoon they
broke into smaller groups• to en-
vision "ideal communities" and
discuss a specific problem currently
considered destructive to relation-
ships in Canadian society. Both of
these workshops were led by Gor-
don Husk, a mediator with Com-
munity Mediation Services of the
Waterloo region.
The weekend ended with a pot
luck meal and worship service in
the Quaker tradition. The Quakers,
r retreat
trace their roots to the 17th century
in England. One of their key affir-
mations is a belief in "that of God"
in everyone, which leads them to
look for, and nurture the good in
each person. Other distinctives
include a belief in a continuing
revelation or unfolding of truth, and
a centuries-longcommitment to
peace and social justice.

Quaker Worship group may be
