$100 winner.

the general meeting of the Lucknow
United Church Women on Sept. 28.
The worship service opened with
hymn singing and Lois Goodhue
reading the scripture from Luke 10.
Kay Collyer gave the meditation
entitled "The Good Samaritan".
Shirley Bolt and Gerrie Hender-
son received the offering, with
Mary Lou Priestap doing the
dedication.
Guest speaker, Linda Knight of
Belgrave, the Executive Director of
Community Nursing Services,
spoke of the many ways the or-
ganization provides care at home.
Mrs. Knight said that in Huron
County there are 28,000 covered by
the Ministry of Health and it costs
them $1200 annually for each man,
woman and child. She made us
realize that changes should be made
in our health services in order for
us to get value for our dollar. She
mentioned that the Ministry of
Health is discussing putting all
services such as homemaking, home
support, nursing etc., under one
multi -service agency.
During the business portion of the
meeting, Deanna Reavie reported
that Laurie Alton and Sandra Mor-
rison would be in charge of Chris-
tian Education in place of Sharon
Weber.
Mrs. Reavie, Mrs. Martin, Gwen
Lennips and Nancy Bresnahan
attended the Bruce Presbyterial
meeting at Clavering. Rev. Stan
McKay, moderator of the United
Church of Canada, was guest
speaker. He spoke of the important
role of women in the church.
Several copies of the Upper
Room, in large print, are being
donated to local nursing homes and
senior citizen apartments.
Songs of the Gospel hymn hooks
were purchased for the choir in
memory of Ada Webster.
Remember the annual turkey
supper Oct.. 19.

Catharine Callow and Duncan
Simpson were united in marriage
at St. Peter's Roman Catholic
Church, Goderich, on Aug. 14,
1993. Father John Pinta of-
ficiated. Cathie is the dattther of
Tina and Bill Gallow of Goderich.
Duncan is the son of the late
Lillian and Duncan Simpson.
Maid of honor was Judi Sowerby,
sister of the bride. Bridesmaids
were Joanne Campbell and
Michelle McLeod, friends of the
bridge, and Mary Lillian Mar -
lean, sister of the groom. Nicole
Sowerby, niece of the bride, was
flowergiirl. Best man was Fred
Durnin. Ushers were Carl Sloet-
jes, Dan Wilson, and Paul
Jerome, all friends of the groom.
Music was provided by Cecilia
Denomme and soloist Flora
Wardlaw, sister of the groom.
Cathie and Duncan honeymooned
in Europe and are now residing
at R.R.'3, Goderich.

in Niagara Falls, the couple now
reside in Lucknow.
