Jantzi - Michele and Dale and big brother Brendan are proud to an- nounce the arrival of Connor Jacob, on Aug. 31, 1993,,at K -W Hospital, weighing 6 lbs. 61/2 oz. Work is progressing on Paul Zinn's new home on the Dungan- non road just south of the outskirts of town. Sunday School commenced for the fall term on Sunday in the area churches. In the Lucknow United Church the teachers and classes were introduced and Bibles were presented to students entering Grade Two. The Presbyterian Sunday School welcomed some new teachers and attendance awards were presented to faithful students. A large crowd attended the come and go community shower for Kris - ti Stanley on Saturday at the home of Loree Raymond. Also on Saturday wedding vows were exchanged in the Lucknow United Church by Pam Rosekat and Richard Ireland. Betty Ritchie has returned home after spending an enjoyable three weeks with her family in Red Deer., Alberta. She visited Bryan and Caleb Ritchie, also Donna and Gary Thompson, Amy and Erin. Happy birthday this week to Mrs. Wes Ritchie of 'Pinecrest Manor who will be 94 on Sat. Sept. 18th. Over 90 descendants of the late S.D.A.A. Stobo and Elizabeth UCKNOW by Mildred Loree Spence gathered for their annual family reunion in Goderich on Sun. Sept. 5th, Present from this area were Gloria and Don Daw, Murray and Gertie Henderson, Harold and Betty Anne Elphick and Austin and Mildred Loree. Three -game winners in the Luck - now Lawn Bowling annual Labor Day tournament were Gord Roger, Stratford; Harry Lustig, Chesley; Lee Ryan, Goderich, and Larry Chaput, Kitchener. There were four tables of shoot in play at the Drop in Centre on Sept. 10, when Vera Purvis and Dave Swan took high spots. Others in the winners' circle were Grace' Gibson and Wesley Young, with Jim Er- rington taking the most shoots. There will be no cards on Sept. 17 due to the Lucknow Fall Fair. Pietie Kragt, Prince George, B.C., visited for a week with her mother Fettle deBoer of Pinecrest, and with brothers and family in the area. She stayed with Roely and Gerry Vander Klippe. Culbert family reunion Becky and Harvey Culbert of Dungannon held the 15th annual Culbert families picnic on August 29 with 60 members attending. A minute silence was held for Cora (Mrs. Alvin Sherwood) and Lily (Mrs. George Rivett) of Dun- gannon. George Errington was responsible for the business portion of the pic- nic. It was decided that Harvey and Becky will hold the 1994 picnic on August 21, at 1 p.m. The slate of officers for 1994 are: President - Alma Huston; Vice President - Dorothy Williams; program - Carol Nivins and Lynn Oliver; sports - Duane Culbert and Bryce Ritchie; tea helper - Donna Culbert;. program committee - De!oris Culbert and Wendy Ritchie. Three contests were held and the, winners were Paul Plunkett, Grant Culbert and Lynn Oliver; most five cents - Laverne Culbert, 8; most Loonies Madalene Culbert, 41. Tickets on baskets of pears were won by Reta Merkly and Lynn Oliver; Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus ornaments - Laverne Culbert. Sports results: kick the slipper - Wendy Ritchie and Paul Plunkett:, children five to eight years, Justin Millar, nine and up, Corey.Culbert.. Winners at the picnic included: Tom Culbert and Lynn.
