her daughter Marion Orser, of Van-
couver were recent visitors of Fred
andk Donna Young. Marion is a
member of a biking group, flying
from Vancouver to London; travel-
ling on her bicycle from London to
Seaforth to visit her mother, thence
to Ottawa and into the Eastern,
States.
Abria and Bronven Young,
daughters of John and Kathy of
Goderich; finished summer holidays
yisiting grandparents Fred and
Donna Young.
The Dungannon/Nile UCW meet
Sept..21, 1:30 p.m. at Nile United
Church, Phyllis Cox, regional
president, will be guest speaker.
Members of Auburn UCW are
invited to attend.
Belle Mole spent the holiday
weekend in Courtright visiting the
family of Don Mole, who had a
birthday celebration. The Moles
participated in the Hardy Fun Day
Rodeo.
On the return trip Bell visited Ted
and Olive Bower in Sarnia. Ted is
an avid horticulturist and former
president of Dungannon Senior
Citizeps.
Sept. 8 was a busy day at the
Dungannon Senior Citizens with an
afternoon general- meeting and
potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. enjoyed'
by the Friendship Club. This was
followed by 10 tables •of enthusias-
tic euchre ;players. The evening
concluded with Kay McCormick,
Helen Russell, Nels Pearson and the
birthday boy Frankie as winners.
Special guests were Erma and
Allan Reed, Port Colborne, who
were visitors at the Pentland homes-
tead, with the foursome attending
the card party.
Correction from last week: Ralph
and. Avice Foster were honored
guests at the .come and go tea of
Frank Pentland on Sept. 1, when
they celebrated their 14th wedding
anniversary.
It is back to college and univer-
sity for a number of Dungannon
students.
The Hodges girls, .daughters of
Penny and Terry, are away for the
school term. Sherri is attending
Brock University in St. Catherines,
majoring in Sociology, while Tanya
attends the Wilfrid Laurier Univer-
sity, Waterloo, striving to attain her
Bachelor of Arts degree.
Peggy Brindley is attending
Lambton' College, Sarnia, involved
with studies in the correctional
program. She is the daughter of
Ross and MaryAnn.
Jennifer Redmond, daughter of
Ambrose and Barbara, is. attending
L'ambton College as well.
Sharon and David Dawson's
daughter, Jacqui, is attending
Lakehead University in Thunder
Bay.

Tim McNee is following family
tradition and enroled at the Cones-
toga College, Kitchener, in the fine
art of woodworking.
Dana Park, daughter of Diane and
Rick, is attending Fanshawe, Lon-
don, in the three-year Registered
Nursing program.
Patricia Stapleton, daughter of
Neil and Nancy, is at York Univer-
sity, Toronto, in her second year in
International Studies.
Micheline Montrueil conducted
the Sunday morning worship at
Dungannon United Church.
CGIT began fall activities Sept.
13 under the leadership of Elizabeth
Irvin. Girls between the ages of 12
and 17 are welcome to attend.
Explorers, girls aged nine to 1.1,
and Messengers, girls aged six to
eight years, will hold their first
regular meetings on Sept. 22, 7 to
8:15 p.m. under the leadership of
Jan Logtenberg and Dorothy Bere.
The official Board of Dungannon
Union Pastoral Charge met at the
manse Thursday evening. Rev. Rick
Magie, supervising minster, opened
the meeting with prayer. Also
present were lay ministry personnel
Debbie Hawkins and Micheline
Montrueil.
Reports were received by chair-
person Frank Alton and recorded by
Penny Hodges.
• Katherine McNee was nominated
as the local church secretary.
Terry Hodges had the thrill of a
lifetime the last day of August
when he landed a 30 lb. 40 inch
long salmon. He was accompanied
on the fishing expedition in the
Medford area by his father-in-law,
Harold Errington, and friend Bill
Sproul.
Thursday's gust of wind felled a
large tree limb on the electrical
wires, near the Senior Citizen'
Centre. Hydro work crews were on
the . scene to remove the over-han-
ging.limb and repair minor damage
to the adjoining buildings.
Bub McNeil has reason for family
pride. Daughter Shannon was
chosen as the 1993-94 Milk Mes-
senger of the Huron County Milk
Producers on Friday evening, at the
Brussels Community Centre.
Shannon will promote the use of
dairy products at various local
events. She will be eligible to enter
the Regional Dairy Princess com-
petition.
Shannon is well qualified for this
honor, being the daughter of a dairy
farmer and a recent graduate of
Mohawk College.
Son Craig, an '89 graduate of
Ridgetown Agriculture College in
animal husbandry, is an employee
of Top Notch Feeds, St. Thomas.
Ross and Bernice Henry share
equal pride as proud grandparents.
Congratulations to the Dungannon
Tyke ball team on winning the "A"
championship in Lucknow, on
Saturday, with a score of 21 - 13
over Port Albert.
The team, coached by . Wayne
Wilson, includes six to eight year
olds: Amanda Brindley, Karen
Irvin, Sandra Van Niekirk, Stacy
Wilson, Mike Wilson, Nicole El-
liott, Shannon Johnston, Daniel
Drennan, Peter Holmes, Nathaniel
Miller, Bradley Slotjes, Chris
Young, Wesley Rivett and Erin
Moran.
Congratulations to coach Wayne
and to their best cheer leaders - the
monis and dads!
Mary Hackett of Souris, Manitoba
(formerly Lucknow), spent the past
week visiting the Hunter/Hackett
relatives and friends. On Saturday
she was a caller at the homes of
John and Myrtle Spivak and Jim
and Margaret Errington.
Well over 500 people, with 300
buyer numbers, from all across
Ontario and the United States at-
tended the consignment auction sale
of over 160 tractors and other items
at Brindley's Sales Yards on Satur-
day.

Joseph's School, Kingsbridge, wel-

Whaling, who has been , with the
Hamilton -Wentworth R.C. Separate

• Association who celebrated their
32nd annual reunion on Sept. 9, 10,
11 and 12. Several Dungannon and
area folk helped swell the little
village to a small city as close to
550 campsites at the fair grounds
were filled for most of the week.
The local musicians, entertainers,
competitors, exhibitors and winners
are to be commended 'for making
this a very special weekend for
everyone. Congratulations Blyth
for a job well done!
