Ontario N7A 1M2 Busines has new owners, new name BUSINESS BEAT It's a sister and brother team that purchased Buffy's Burger Bar. In addition to the new owners, the business has a new name and will now be known as R & E Family Dining. . The "R" is for Ricky, Van Ee and the "E" is for brother Eddie Veldhuis, who in addition to being a cook has designated himself as the P.R. man of the business. Being a people person he enjoys that aspect as much as being able to put his culinary talents to the test. A psychiatric rehabilitation therapist in Montreal, who recently retired, Eddie says cooking was his hobby, one that he used as a tueairls of treatment in his professional capacity.. Ricky will basically be the "short order" cook and Eddie the "main course" cook. Ricky, has a great deal of ex- perience "in the kitchen" as she grew up in a restaurant her parents owned in Elora. She also had past. experience with the former owners of the Mayfair Restaurant. The Kinloss . township 'duo say some changes are in the works at a later date. For now they, .will con- tinue 'to,,, offer daily-' luncheon specials specializing inhomemade soups each day. And they hope to maintain and increase the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of the establish- ment. It's been a hectic time for the two who took over the business on Sept. 1.
