Busines has new owners, new name
BUSINESS BEAT
It's a sister and brother team that
purchased Buffy's Burger Bar. In
addition to the new owners, the
business has a new name and will
now be known as R & E Family
Dining. .
The "R" is for Ricky, Van Ee and
the "E" is for brother Eddie
Veldhuis, who in addition to being
a cook has designated himself as
the P.R. man of the business. Being
a people person he enjoys that
aspect as much as being able to put
his culinary talents to the test. A
psychiatric rehabilitation therapist in
Montreal, who recently retired,
Eddie says cooking was his hobby,
one that he used as a tueairls of
treatment in his professional
capacity..
Ricky will basically be the "short
order" cook and Eddie the "main
course" cook.
Ricky, has a great deal of ex-
perience "in the kitchen" as she
grew up in a restaurant her parents
owned in Elora. She also had past.
experience with the former owners
of the Mayfair Restaurant.
The Kinloss . township 'duo say
some changes are in the works at a
later date. For now they, .will con-
tinue 'to,,, offer daily-' luncheon
specials specializing inhomemade
soups each day. And they hope to
maintain and increase the friendly,
relaxed atmosphere of the establish-
ment.
It's been a hectic time for the
two who took over the business on
Sept. 1. Ricky and Eddie both like
the area and say "the people are
