The premier breeder award went to Lanydone Farms Ltd. of Chepstow; premier exhibitor was Patience Holsteins of Mildmay; fust or second year exhibitor was won by Paul Leis of Elmwood and high BCA award went to Zetterdale Farms of Chepstow. Best uddered female was Mah- deen Farms Ltd. of Ripley; breeder's herd first prize winner was Lanydone Farms Ltd. of Chepstow; Progeny of Dam winner was Zetterdale Farms of Chepstow. Mature cow grand champion was Mandeen Farms of Ripley; reserve grand champion winner was Patience' Holsteins of Mildmay who was also the fust prize winner. Five-year-old winner was Brenda Inglwae of •Inglwae Farms of Walkerton; four-year-old winner was Mandeen Farms of Ripley; senior three-year-old winner was Patience Holsteins of Mildmay; junior three-year-old winner was Hells -Lea Farms Mildmay; senior two-year-old winner was Murray Elliot of Walkerton; junior two- year-old winner was Patience Holsteins of Mildmay; Ronald Kuntz of Mildmay won fust place for the dry cow category of any age; junior breeder's herd winner was Lanydone Farms of Chepstow; winter yearling winner was Wil- helm Bros. of Walkerton; senior yearling award went to Lanydone Farms of Chepstow; junior cham- pion went to Dale Watke of Hanover, reserve junior champion to Lanydone Farms of Chepstow. In an effort to diminish the cul- tivation and subsequent trafficking of marijuana in the counties of Grey and Bruce, the Owen Sound Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating il- legally cultivated marijuana. A great number of illegal crops are planted along fence lines, in areas of fields which are remote or unused and on farms that are rented. You can aid the RCMP in locating this illegal harvest by: walking your own fence line, checking unused lands bordering your farm or just otherwise repor- ting any suspicious activities you might observe, such as persons entering wooded areas carrying jugs of water or shovels, or leaving these areas carrying plastic bags. Points to remember are that the growing season for the marijuana plant is June to September, with harvest taking place in early Sep- tember.
