PEDESTRIANS
New caution signs are posted on Willoughby Street near the
bridge and on Bob Street where It intersects Campbell Street,
warning to watch for elderly pedestrians. Buster Whitby took
his suggestion to the local Kinsmen club who agreed it was a
good Idea and provided the financial support for the purchase.

Rosenfeld brought home a gold and

Less than a year later, she was
stricken with arthritis. Although
bed -ridden for eight months and on'.
crutches for a year, in 1931 she was
back as the leading home -run hitter
in a major softball league. The
following winter, she was the
outstanding player in Ontario
women's hockey.
In 1932 she coached the Canadian
women's track team at the British
Empire Games, although arthritis
forced her to retire from active
sports in 1933.
In 1949, she became one of the
first inductees to the Canadian
Sports Hall of Fame, and a
Canadian Press poll named her
Woman Athlete of the Half -Cen-
t
Rosenfeld blazed many trails. For
over 20 years she wrote a sports
column in the Globe and Mail,
covering everything from horse-
racing to wrestling with an ir-
reverent humor. When She died in
1969, the newspaper paid tribute to
her as "that rarity; a natural ath-
lete."

RIME STOPPERS
Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce are
seeking the public's assistance in
the investigation of two break, enter
and thefts which occurred in Luck -
now.
The Kincardine Detachment of
the Ontario Provincial Police is
seeking information on two possibly
related occurrences, the first a break
and enter at Bell's Variety Store on.
Campbell Street which occurred at
1:00 a.m. on Apr. 19, 1993. At this
time unknown person(s) smashed
the front window and stole 30 car-
tons of cigarettes,. mainly Player's
brands, valued at approximately
$1,800.00.
The second incident Qccurred
during the early morning hours of
May 2, 1993, when unknown per-
son(s) pried open a door to Buffy's
Burger Bar on Campbell Street, and
in this instance, stole some loose
packages of Player's Light cigaret-
tes, 2000 Super Nevada Tickets
sponsored by the "Ontario Head
Injury Association", a small blue
cloth purse with zipper, and some
cash that was in the purse.
If you can help in these or any
other cases, Crime Stoppers of Grey
