Plowing Match's Urban and Rural,
House Beautification program.
About 440 people attended the
social hour, dinner and awards
presentations last Thursday night in
Chesley. First, second and third
place winners took home a feeling
of pride and silver tea sets as
prizes. -
Winners were chosen from nine
categories which included most
improved farmstead, already
improved farmstead, most improved
rural and urban home; already
improved rural home, commercial
most improved, already improved
commercial,. conservation farm and
most attractive heritage home.
Chairman of the committee, Grant
Collins of Kincardine., said three
judges viewed the homes. Some
have been undergoing renovations
since September of 1991. The
homes were judged by the exterior
only.
Winners were ' as follows:
Farmstead most improved, first,
Bart and Anne Dirven of Carrick
Township; second, Barry and
Dianne Ribey of Bruce Township;
third, Donald and Karen Ritchie of
ss Township.
