Dr. and Mrs. Mac MacDonald, of Kincardine, had his mother, Nina and Bessie Mauldcn at their home - to celebrate Nina's birthday. Jean Phillips of Fonthill visited her with her sister Bessie Mauldcn. On Wednesday afternoon Nina MacDonald • entertained Bessie Maulden, Jean Phillips, Winnifred Percy, Edna and May Boyle at a social afternoon and delicious din- ner before she leaves our village to take up residence at her Ripley apartment. They also helped Win; nifred Percy celebrate her birthday. 'We will miss Nina in our neighbor- hood and wish her every blessing in her new apartment in, Ripley. Nora Kelly, Anne McInnes and Lenore Davidson, of Blyth; visited on Saturday with Edna and May Boyle. Myrtle Percy visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Donald McIntyre at Lucknow. Swink` team competes in Goderich by Shauna Andrew On August 7, 13 Lucknow swim team members and two coaches competed in the third .nkeet of the season in Goderich. . It was one of the team's most outstanding meets point wise, and even though the weather gave us a soaking, it didn't dampen the spirits of the swim team. Your hard work is paying off team, keep up the great work. Bob, Lois and Alexander Ross, of Waterloo, spent the holiday weekend with his parents, Don and Jean Ross. On Sunday they visited with Roy and Betty Pennington. Carmen Whytock retired the end of July from the Wingham and District Hospital after 21 years as part of the kitchen staff. A get together of the kitchen staff was held at the Wingham Park on July 27 to honor him. On July 30 a retirement party was held at the hospital for him.
