The Christian Education Commit- tee reported there will. be a Friendship Group organized for the young women in the community jn the fall: Plans are also under way for the shower for Heather McDougall which is to be held on August 14 at the church at 2 p.m. Seventeen membersanswered the roll call by telling of a vacation they had taken: Ruth Buchmeier presented a very Fabulous u.rnmer Clearance VISA LUCKNOW FASHIONS 528-332() thought provoking bible study en- titled, "Our Life's Journey Needs • Jesus". Shirley Colwell sang a lovely solo followed by the prayer circle. - Marian Mowbray read several folk -tales which provided insights into the Middle - Eastern Culture. She also gave the stories of three individuals living in the Mid -East who were working for peace in their own ways. Marian also presented a list of reasons why that area suffers from instability and unrest. There has been a history of foreign domination, unfair policies of un- representative governments, dif- fering visions of new societies, great inequalities in wealth and resources, as well as unresolved regional conflicts. The courtesies were given by Marian Mowbray and a' delicious lunch was served by the directors. The September meeting will be held at the home of. Margaret deBoer at 8 p.m. CAshfield Township OUNCIL NEWS Streetlight agreement Ashfield Township Council, at its July 20 meeting, ,passed a by-law authorizing Reeve Allan Gibson to execute an agreement between the township and the Ministry of Transportation regarding the instal- lation of streetlights at the junction of Highway 21 and North Street and South Street, Port Albert. Council also approved an Oc- cupational Health and Safety Policy. 54th annual reunion held in Wingham The 54th annual McInnes -Fal- coner reunion was held on Sunday, July 11 at Wingham's Riverside Park. • President Bruce McInnes wel- comed the 69 family members attending. A moment of silence was observed for those of the family lost in the past year. A short business meeting was held and the officers for 1994 are: Bruce McInnes, president; David Falconer, 1st vice; Brian Falconer, 2nd vice; Norma Falconer, secretary/treasurer; Vera and Lorie Falconer, lunch committee. . Paul Falconer' volunteered to 3hair the Games Committee for next year's activities which will take place on the second Sunday in July at Riverside Park. The Whitechurch•Hall will be reserved in case of bad weather. Each member attending this year was asked to make a special effort' to bring with them next year someone in the family who has been absent in recent years.
