On Saturday evening, 90 members of the family gathered at the Legion where they were served a meal in honor of Rose's 90th birthday. There were several people present from the United States, coming from as far away as Mis- souri and Los Angeles. This Sunday, August 1, Jessie Johnston will be celebrating her 90th birthday when her family is hostingan open house at the Legion. Congratulations and best wishes Jessie! Glen and Sandra, Laura and Jonathan, spent a day of their holidays with Glen's parents in Owen Sound:before going on to Niagara Falls. Council agrees to reduce remuneration by $5 per special and regular meetings In a recorded vote, with four yeses and one no, Kinloss Township Council agreed to reduce their remuneration by $5 per special and regular meetings. Councillors voted on the motion at its July 19 meeting. The reduction will take effect as of August 1, 1993. Clerk Mark Becker told council. the grievance of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 was settled at a meeting on Thursday, July 15. Becker will contact the con- ciliation officer and the union to set up another meeting in August to continue contract negotiations. He recommended council review the current contract so members • will be prepared when negotiations start again. Council accepted the tender of Dave Seabrook for covering material at the Kinloss Waste Disposal Site, Two hours of covering and packing is required at the, discretion of the Waste Site Supervisor. Council was told its new township pins' have arrived. The pins are available for $1.50 each. Councillors Husk and Haldenby gave a report of the Recreation Board.
