Crystalizers remain in first place
despite recent loss to Kinloss
The mighty have stumbled but
not fallen.
The Lucknow Crystalizers'
hope for a perfect season ended
last week when they were edged
13-11 by the Kinloss slo pitch
team. They do however remain
on top of the 10 team league
with an impressive 10 and one
record which gives them a one
game lead over the second place
Lucknow Kinsmen team.
The Kinsmen posted the best
record in the last month with
five wins and no losses to hold
on to second place. Two-time
defending champions Lanesville
Lords put in a 4 and 0 month to
edge into third place standing.
The second -year Rapid City
Rollers made the biggest ad-
vance moving from 9th place to
4th by way of their five wins
against one loss during the last
month. They Holyrood Trojans
have slipped into 5th place,
having gone 1 and 4 since the
last report. Port Albert, Kinloss
and the Lucknow Six Shooters
are tied for 6th with an identical
three wins against five losses.
This keeps those teams five and
a half games out of 1st place.
Belfast, narrowly edged out by
the Crystalizers in an earlier
game, have slipped to 9th place
with the expansion team, Luck -
now Black Angels, remaining in
10th place with a 1 and 9 record.
The teams are competing in
an 18 -game schedule which is to
be completed by September 6.
The top Lives teams will play a
round robin series to determine
the Champion. while the bottom
five teams will play to determine
the 'B' Champion for play-offs.
All teams are asked to make up
cancelled games as soon as
possible. Diamond times should
be booked through George Gib-
son at 528-6840.
Congratulations to the Kinloss
team which was the only one of
seven Lt'fcknow league teams to
get in 'the prize money at the
Lucknow Kin Summerfest held
in June. Congratulations also to
the Lanesville Lords who ad-
vanced to the semi-finals in the
championship • side of the
Belgrave Kinsmen Tournament
and the Lucknow Kinsmen who
wan theconsolation side of the
same tournament.
