Rev. Garth and Rev. Orilla
Bogart, and their son Stephen, bid
farewell to Dungannon Union Pas-
toral Charge on Sunday, June 27. A
wood carving, by a local artist, was
presented on behalf of the Dungan-
non congregation by Cecil
Cranston.
Following vacation, their new
address will be Box 278, Big Val-
ley, Alberta, TOJ OGO.
Rev, Rick Magie, of Victoria
United Church, Goderich, is the
supervising minister. Lay persons
presently supplying the ministry are
Debbie Hawkins and Micheline
Montreuil.
A Sunday School picnic for all
congregations followed at Brook-
side School.
The Dungannon Cemetery
memorial service was held on Jane
27 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Garth and
Rev. Orilla Bogart officiating. Ed
Stiles accompanied Ralph Hender-
son in a musical selection.
The Honor Roll was read by
Arnold Stothers with a moments
silence in memory of Violet
McPhee, Gordon Smyth, William
Graham, Gordon Lyle Fowler, Vera
Carter, William Harold Reed, Cora
Sherwood and• Hugh McWhinney.
Collection taken will go towards
cemetery maintenance.
Jim and Emily Drennan are
pleased. to announce the
engagement of their daughter, Jen-
nifer Jean to Stephane Rene. The
wedding will take place. in Quebec
on Aug. 7.
Congratulations to Bob and Ethel
McAllister who celebrated their
"50th wedding anniversary on July
10, with a come and go tea held at
the home of, their daughter and son-
in-law, Mary Lou and Doug
Raynard, Lucknow.
.. A large crowd attended the bridal
shower for Cathy Williamson, on
July 11, at. St. Augustine. Cathy,
received many useful gifts. She will
be married to Harry Boyle on Aug.

Student
of the week
Linda Christiansen is the Canada
Employment Centre's student oldie
week.
Linda is finishing Grade 11 at the
Walkerton District Secondary
School. She enjoys 'basketball,
soccer, -volleyball, track and field,
and reading. She is planning to go
to university, perhaps pursuing a
career in accounting:
Linda's previous work experience
includes painting, working on the
farm, and babysitting. This summer
she would prefer a job on a farm,
babysitting, in an office, or as a
cashier.

A special welcome to Stella
McCormick of Cambridge who is
now staying with her son Bob, and
daughter-in-law Doreen McCor-
mick. Good to see you out.
Several from the area attended the
Knights of Columbus annual beef
barbecue at Kingsbridge School on
July 11,
Nick and Brett Courtney, of
Blyth, spent the weekend with their
grandparents, Joe and Teresa
Courtney. Gary, Chris, Michael and
Elisha joined them on Sunday brin-
ging with them a delicious salad
dinner which was enjoyed on a
very, hot humid day.
Laura Bere, daughter of David
and Dorothy Bere, joined with
friends to help Charlotte Worsell, of
Auburn, celebrate her sixth birthday
on Saturday. Happy, birthday, Char-
lotte!
Evelyn Errington. spent Sunday in
Clinton visiting her . niece Alma
Caldwell.
Seniors News
Ten tables of euchre were in
action at Dungannon Senior
Citizens on July 7.
In the winners' circle were Mabel
Lamont, Gertie Kraemer, Richard
Grant and Harold Kraemer, who
was a double winner because of his
birthday celebration. He and his
wife, Gertie, celebrated the Big 70
with family members at the
Candlelight prior to the card party.
Helen Russell was presented with
a rose to observe her birthday
celebration.
The Dungannon Senior Citizens
were not successful 'in their attempt
to retain local banking facilities.
They express appreciation 'to all
who supported their 'petition, and
regret that the CIBC Dungannon
branch will close July 29.

Attends career mania
t ara Thacker spent three days at
Guelph University representing
Bruce County 4-H for career mania.
Mt. and Mrs. Elwood Storey, of
Milton, visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Terry Burt over the weekend.
Lucas Thacker is attending bas-
ketball camp at Walkerton.
Irene Hodgins, of Pinecrest
Manor, spent a week at Niagara
Falls with her sister-in-law Maretta
Hodgins. Mrs. Hodgins returned
Irene home this past Sunday and
visited with friends in the area.
Bessie Maulden returned home
after visiting with her sister Jean
Phillips at Fonthill.

ley, .of Mildmay, were recent
visitors with Nina McDonald,
Mr, and Mrs. Allan Donnan of
Exeter, Melissa Donnan and friend

Melinda.

• The North Huron Vet Club held
its achievement on July 8 at the
Wawanosh Conservation
Campgrounds.
