Co-op opens gasbar
by Pat Livingston
Last Saturday was the grand
opening of the Lucknow and
District Co-operative's computer
gas bar, where ethanol or regular
unleaded fuel may be purchased.
Allan Scott, manager, said it was
a fair investment for the Co-op, but
due to less on-farm storage of fuel
these days, it was deemed a prudent
move.
Support of ethanol fuel in the area
has been good, said Mr. Scott.
The new fuel bar has a com-
puterized rd,lock system. You do
not have to a Co-op member to
have a card. The only requirement
is approved credit. By using a "pin"
(personalized identification number)
a customer can access the pump
and fill -up. Each transaction is
recorded inside the building and a
receipt is issued at the pump as
well.
Mr. 'Scott said, if necessary, fuel
will be pumped' by store 'staff, for
those without a card, during regular
business hours 8 to 5 weekdays,
and 8 to noon Saturdays.
