were held on June 16. Mr.
Burkhart's and Mrs. Black's Grade
six classes presented the 12 themes

skits and a play.
Bob Irwin, president of the Lion's
Club, presented the students with
pins and certificates.
At the end of the program cake
and lemonade were served. We
thank the Grist bakery for donating
such a delicious treat.
It was pleasing to see so many
parents and friends support the
students by their presence.

went to Goderich to the museum
and to the airport. We went up for
an airplane ride for 15 minutes.
In history class we are doing a
unit on Lucknow. we also have
Lucknow's history book which is
called "Lucknow, A Glimpse of the
Past." It is interesting to see the
different shops and stores, and even
what Lucknow used to look like. In
English we are doing a media study
and the different things that are
included in making a movie.
On Friday, June 18, some of the

LCPS nature club winds down for year
The LOPS Nature Club had an
. eventful last term. They visited
Burgsma's Zoo at Dungannon, and
toured Lazy Acre farm near Allen -
ford followed by dinner in Port
Elgin at the Big M.
The Lazy Acres is a shelter for
wounded and 'stray animals
including owls, deer, bear, cougar,
llama, ostrich and a variety of other
wild animals. The club donated
money to both establishments as
they are run independently.
The last meeting was held at Lake
Huron. Members had a beach clean-
up and had supper around a camp
fire.
Other activities the Nature Club
participated in throughout the year
were composting, selling• of
reusable Christmas Cards, an acorn
Planting project, community clean-
up, Earth Day and Wild Life Week.
LCPS thanks all 22 members of
the club for their interest in caring
or o
to secretary Angela Hartin.
It is hoped some of these mem-
bers will return in, the fall as the
club is committed to helping with
the Greenway Project established in
Lucknow. By taking an active part
in protecting our resources, we can
make a difference.
