last week traded on a fully steady
market to last week on fed steers &
heifers,' with cows selling $2 - 4
higher.

New Date Set For Seminar
The Bruce .County Cattlemen's
Association is sponsoring a beef
seminar on the various cuts and
preparation of beef on Tuesday
evening, June 29". Participants will
learn the difference between the
various steaks and roasts and how
they should be cooked; bemade
aware of buying freezer trade beef
and what cuts and amounts you can
expect; and receive handouts and
sample some beef • dishes. The
instructor is Nancy Ackert Fair
from Beefway in Kincardine.
The two-hour seminar begins at
7:30 p.m. at the OMAF Board
Room, Walkerton. Reserve your
spot by calling 881-3301 or 1-800-
265-3023. This seminar was res-
cheduled because of a conflicting
meeting.

Video deadline
extended
The registration deadline for the
Farm Safety Video Competition has
been extended until June 30. The
video deadline is August 15, Prizes
totalling $1,000.00 will be awarded.
There are seven topics to choose
from in making your video. Of
course, the emphasis is on safety,
both in the topic•and in the produc-
tion of the video.
Winning entries will be shown at
the International Plowing Match in
Bruce County, September 21 to 25,
1993. Look for them in the county
tent,
Have you experienced an injury,
or do you know of someone who
has been injured on a farm? We are
-hoping that your talents in making
a safety video will prevent this
from happening again.
