UCW honors Beth McConnell
Beth McConnell of Country Road
Lodge was honored with a floral
tribute for her birthday, when the
Dungannon/Nile United Church
Women met on June 8.
President Donna Young opened
the worship service with passage of
scripture from Psalm 103. She also
read a poem from the Second
Reader entitled "Half Past Three".
This article about the old, old lady
and the boy with a twisted knee
playing hide and go seek was
familiar for many.
Old familiar hymns from the blue
book were sung with Elmira Fin-
DUNGANNON
nigan accompanying on the piano.
This piano played a very important
roll in Beth's life as it came from
her home.
Readings were given by Margaret
Errington.
Beth expressed her appreciation
and reminisced about her former
church and community.
The closing prayer was by Rev.
Garth Bogart.
Birthday cake and ice cream was
served by hostesses Jan Errington
and Gloria Pearson.
Seniors News '
Nine tables of euchre were in
play at the Dungannon Senior
Citizens' hall on June 9. Taking
home the prizes were Louise
Brindley, Lois Chamney, Joyce
Swan, Harvey Sillib and Elmer
Trommer.
Joe Courtney is a patient in Win-
gham and District Hospital. Get
well wishes are extended from his
Dungannon friends.

Deborah Mary Raynard, the
daughter of Doug and Mary Lou
Raynard of. Lucknow, and
Leonard Thomas Benoit, the son
of Wilfred and Elizabeth Benoit
of Port -au -Port, Newfoundland,
were united in marriage at Luck.
now Presbyterian Church on May
15, 1993. Rev. Margaret Kinsman
officiated the ceremony. Linda
Pilon, of Ottawa, was the maid of
honor, and Diane Raynard, Lon-
don, and Donna Raynard,
Guelph, were bridesmaids. Best
man was Dave Moffat of Barrie,
and John Benoit, Toronto, and
Gord McCreary, Sudbury, were
ushers. A reception was held at
the Lucknow Community Centre.
The couple will reside in
Cornerbrook, Newfoundland.

Miltenburg - Aubin
St. Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge,
was the setting for the wedding of
Marilyn Aubin and Anthony
Marsman Miltenburg on Satur-
day, May 22, 1993. Father Harry
Reitzel officiated. The bride is the
daughter of Lloyd an Marylou
Aubin, of Goderich. The groom is
the son of Ries and Maria Milten-
burg, R.R. 7, Lucknow. The maid
of honor was Carolyn Manning of
R.R. 4 Coldwater, twin sister of
the bride. The bridesmaid was
Rosemarie Lee, of Blyth, friend of
the bride and junior bridesmaid
was Lindsay Manning, of R.R. 4,
Coldwater, the eight-year-old
niece of the bride. Best man was
Peter VanDiepenbeek of R.R.- 7,
Lucknow, friend, of ow groom.
Usher was Donny Miltenburg, of
R.R. 7, Lucknow, brother of the
groom, and junior usher was
Garry Scott, of Lucknow, the 14 -
year -old nephew of the groom. A
dinner and reception followed at
the Lucknow Community Centre.
The couple is now raiding in
Ashfield Township, at R.R. 7,.
Lucknow.
Shaw -Park
On the evening of Apr. 30, 1993,
Doug Shaw and Deb Park were
married at the Melville Pres-
byterian Church in Brussels with
Rev. Carolyn McAvoy officiating.
Doug is the son of Harvey and
Betty Shaw, of Brussels and Deb-
bie is the daughter of Arnold and
Joyce _Stothers, of Nile. Lynda
Shaw, sister of the groom, was
matron of honor. The bride's
three daughters, Holly, Amber
and Shayna Park, were also at-
tendants. Murray Pipe, cousin of'
the groom, was best man, while
Gary Pipe, Cousin of the groom
and Pete Exel, friend of the
groom, were the.. ushers. John
Lowe, friend of the groom, and
Julie Stother§, niece of the bride,
lit candelabra.' Music was per-
formed by Joanne. King, organist
and Karla King, soloist. A recep-
tion was held at Brussels, Morris
and Grey Community Centre.
The couple honeymooned in.
Niagara Falls and now resides in.
Brussels.•

The happy couple travelled froth
the church to the Goderich
Township Community, Centre in
a 1939 Plymouth, owned and
driven by the bride's uncle Jini
Scott. The couple honeymooned
at Lake Kashagawigamog, On-
tario and now reside in Goderith.

MacLennan were united in mar-
riage. Scottish piper Jeff Peach of
Blyth led the processional at Nile
United Church. Reverends Garth
and Orilla Bogart officiated at the
double ring ceremony. Karen
Bruinsma was soloist accom-
panied by Mary Garriock. The
bride is the daughter of Frank
and Phyllis Scott, Goderich, and
the groom is the son of Beth
MacLennan, Goderich and the
late Eldon MacLennan. The bride
was attended by maid of honor,
Amy Barnett of Welland and
matron of honor, Shelly Cin-
namon of Niagara Falls, both
• friends of the bride. Bridesmaids
were Sandra Marr, St. Thomas,
friend of the bride; Cindy
MacLennan, Goderich, sister of
the groom. Junior bridesmaid
was Margie Giesbrecht, Goderich,
friend of the bride, with Amanda
Scott, of Ashfield Township, a
cousin of the bride as flowergirl.
The groom's attendants were
Gary Powell of Goderich, a friend
of the groom as best man. Ushers
were Tim MacLennan and Shaun
MacLennan, both of Goderich,
