Lots. of invitations for Presbyterian WMS
The Riverview Apartments was
the location for Lucknow's Pres-
byterian W.M.S. meetilg on Wed.,
June 2. The residents were invited
to share in a noon luncheon
provided by the members and the
program following.
Norma Raynard was in charge of
the meeting and opened with a
poem, 'It's A Wonderful World',
and call to worship, Psalm 24:1.
The devotions were given by
Audrey MacDonald, reading the
story of Pentecost from Acts, chap-
ter 2. She told the story of St.
Patrick who had been taken to
Ireland as a slave while in his
teens. After his escape six years
later, he returned to Ireland as a
missionary and served there bet-
ween 30 and 40 years.
Donalda Moffat led a sing song
of several well-know{h and loved
hymns with everyone participating.
Gladys Robertson chose the
'thought leaders with the leadership
convention and election in the near
future for her message. She said as
Christians we all have a greater
leader .in Jesus Christ and as a
Missionary society our members
motto is to make Him known
throughout the world. She listed -
some of His attributes as teacher,
healer, servant and one who always .
keeps His promises. She concluded
with everyone singing 'Follow Me
The Master 'Said'. .

UGW talks about former moderator
Fourteen members of Unit 1 of
the Lucknow United Church
Women enjoyed a luncheon at the
home of Margaret Cameron. An
added delight was a tour of Don's
workshop where he spends hours
crafting with wood.
A pot luck program followed with
each member participating. Ella
Hackett opened with a poem
"Lovely are the Blue Skies." A
Bible Quiz on Affliction was led by
Ella Hackett and Jean McLeod.
Jean Conley favored us with two
pieces on her autoharp.
Helen Todd told us about the
former moderator, the Very Rev.
Walter Farquharson, and his wife
Joan, who this winter started a bed
and breakfast accommodations for
quests travelling the Yellowhead
Highway. In addition, the Farquhar -
son's are offering counselling and
retreat services to people who re-
quest them. Numerous other
readings, jokes and hints made this
a very enjoyable program.
After the business was dispersed,
Ella Hackett closed with a prayer.
