McGlynn - Kelly and Kimberly, of
R.R. 2, Bluevale, are delighted with
the safe arrival of their son; Justin
David, born on May 8, 1993, in
Wingham and District Hospital,
weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. Justin is a
wee brother for Scott and Kyle.
Happy grandparents are Mary and
Jerry McGlynn, and Bob and Willa
Harris.
Moore - Richard Moore and Kerri
Redford, of R.R. 3 Wingham, wel-
come with love their 'son, Trevor
Ryan Richard Moore, born May 9,
1993, at Wingham and District
Hospital, weighing 7 'lbs. 8 oz.
Trevor's grandparents are Walter
and Alice Moore, Norman and
Brenda Redford, and great
grandparents Jean and Harry
Montgomery, and Rose and Nor-
man Redford. Great great
grandmother is Viola Montgomery.
St. Helen's WI
makes plans
for fair display
Members of the St. Helen's
Women's Institute met at the hall
on May 11, with president Caroline
Menary opening the meeting in the
usual manner.
Plans were made to go to the
District Annual meeting on May 31
in Wingham. A discussion took
place on the group display for the
- fair and . who would be able to
attend Pinecrest Nursing Home's
volunteer appreciation day.
Jean Philips had the topic and
- Irene Markham gave two' humorous
readings.
Card party results
Edythe Coultes and Cliff Menary
were high shoot players at the St.
Helen's WI party on May 11.. In
.second high spots were Lois Chain-
ney and Stuart Chamney.
Four people - Caroline Menary,
Ross Taylor, Cliff Menary and
Edythe Coultes - tied - for most
shoots, all getting two. Mr. Taylor
picked the closest number.
The next party is on May 25.

South Deltu Street was a busy
place on Saturday afternoon as
Donald and, Bev Thompson hosted
an open house in honor of Margaret
Thompson's 80th birthday.
Also on the same street the family
of Rev. Albert and Janet Cook held
an open house in honor of their
parent's 40th wedding anniversary.
Congratulations to each of these
celebrants.
Also on Saturday, in the Lucknow
Presbyterian ChurCh, at 6:30 p.m.
Debbie Raynard, daughter of Doug
and Mary Lou Raynard, and Lenny
Benoit exchanged wedding vows
with the reception in the Com-
munity Centre.
Birthday wishes 'go this week to
Vicki Jones of Pinecrest Manor
who will be celebrating her 93rd
birthday on May 24.
Sunday morning the Masons held
their annual church parade and,
service in the Luckii°ow Presbyterian
Church.
Sympathy. is extended to the
family of Tillie Hackett who passed
away on Sunday morning and to
Mary Jo Cowan in the passing of
her mother, Hazel Anderson, at
Pinecrest on Sunday evening.
Don Carter of Wingham caught a
37" pike in the Nine Mile River
south of Lucknow on the weekend.
Six tables of slfoot were in play at
the Drop in Centre on May 14.
High lady was Ina Farrish, with
Rita Gilmore taking the low spot.
High man was Dave Swan, with
Cliff Menary in the low spot. Vera
Purvis and Tom Phillips tied with
the most shoots, having two each.
Red ribbon winner
One . normally associates an enjoyable fragrance as emitting
from a flower. Not so with this' Skunk Lily held by Bernadean
Ritchie that won first place in the "any variety section at the
Lucknow and District Horticultural spring flower. show. Mrs.
Ritchie said the plant definitely gives off a skunk -like smell

Lucknow WI take a look
at early farming methods
The Lucknow Women's Institute
met on May 11 with the new
president Bernice Johnston wel-
coming all. Dessert was served by
Alice Taylor and Anne Shiells, the
hostesses for the Meeting.
,Mrs. Johnston read a poem prior
to the usual opening format.
Rolicalt was answered by naming a
dairy product.
Three delegates were named to
attend tyle District Annual in Kin-
cardine.
Mrs. Shiells gave the topic on
early farming and brought to mind
many interesting ways they had to
do their work. A contest followed
