The 1st Lucknow • Scouts parent
fundraising committee was thrilled
by the community's response to all
the Scout activities last Saturday.
Between the yard sale, food booth,
car wash and rubber duck race
nearly $1,700 was raised to go
towards the Canadian Jamboree '93
trip.
Early in the day many folks made
purchases at the yard sale.
Throughout the morning and up to
race time, people were lined up at
the food booth. Over 40 vehicles
were washed in front of the . fire
hall. The grand finale of the day
was the rubber duck race down the
Kinloss Creek from the Gough
Street bridge to the finish line at the
Kinsmen ball park. Over 300 very
generous people sponsored a duck
for the race.
The first duck over the finish line
was sponsored by Sarah Mann who
won the grand prize of $100. The
following people won prizes that
had been donated by local busines-

With a large crowd on hand all
day; and especially at race time, it
was very evident that a fun and
worthwhile day was had by all.
