Hamilton and London Synodical of the Women's Mis- sionary Society (W.D.) of the Pres- byterian Church in Canada held its annual meeting in Knox Pres- byterian Church, St. Thomas on Apr. 20 and 21,. The theme for the two-day ses- sion was "Praise _God" with over. 200 women in attendance. The Synodical was constituted by the president Helen Billiald. Margaret Greig, AEC, conducted - the bible study taking Psalm 103 as her text. Margaret Vanderzweerde told of her recent trip to India meeting with missionaries and' ecumenical groups. She told of their devastation and shortage of water. Mrs. Vanderzweerde • then introduced Maha Samara, a jour- nalist and university professor in Lebanott. She stated that love and patience are needed to uhderstand that her people want peace. At the Tuesday evening dinner Council President Kay Cowper showed slides on her recent trip to Taiwan. On Wednesday each of the nine Presbyterials Praised God through presentations, skits and songs. Following the business meeting the officers for the following year were installed .,,by Kay Cowper. Agnes Bregman of Teeswater-was welcomed as the new president. An invitation for 1994 was given by Maitland Presbyterial to hold the Annual Synodical in St. Andrew's; W Ingham. Delegates attending from Maitland were Erlma Haldenby, Frances Nugent, Isabel Arbuckle, Agnes Bregman, Marjorie Wall, Largret McInnes, Jean Leitch, Marion Mun- dell, Mildred Dickson and a car load from Belmore. Egg Busters Saturday, Apr. 24 was the third 4.H NEWS meeting of the Egg Busters. The-group—did paperwork for camp and then read "Eggs"perimenting with eggs to Stir crazy nutrition. Each member was assigned a job in preparing the chicken dinner, which was sampled. Various games were played including one on the parts of a chicken, and egg and ways to cook a chicken. Plans were made for achievement day. This was an all day meeting and was lots of fun for the 15 members who attended. Egg Busters add this to other report The fourth meeting on Apr. 30 kicked off with . a discussion on camp, followed by discussion on achievement. After a snack, officers were elected for camp. Congratulations to those that are in office. Trinity Happy Heritage Hunters The first meeting of the Trinity Happy Heritage Hunters took place at Brenda Wylds' home on Apr. 27. The highlight of the meeting was a trip to the Dungannon Cemetery where the . group did tombstone rubbings and examined many shapes and symbols. Officers were elected and up- coming meetings discussed. The group met again on Apr. 30 and . travelled to the Goderich Museum and gaol. While at the museum they viewed an interesting film about early set- tlers and were given a tour of the archives. A tour guide at the gaol explained its history before the 4-H tour. Ripley 4-H At the organization meeting of the Ripley 4-H horse club 12 members attended. • Their name Ibis year is "The Ripley Rough Riders". Diane Brooks. and Paula Tadia are the club leaders. This year the club also has two youth !cadets; Larissa Brooks and Julie Wylds. By the club's vote Denise Tadla was nomi- nated president. The next meeting will be held May 10.
