Recent visitors with Harvey and
Becky Culbert were Becky's sisters,
Margaret Book and Florence Busch,
both of Saskatchewan. It was a
pleasure for Beck and Harvey to
have these two ladies present to
help celebrate their 45 th wedding
anniversary.
We're sorry to report that Evelyn
Errington is a patient in Wingham
and District Hospital. Our best
wishes go out to you, Evelyn, for a
speedy recovery.
On Monday, Apr. 5, Eldon Cul-
bert reached another 'milestone as
he celebrated his 80thbirthday.
A surprise birthday party was
held in his honor at his home on
Apr. 9. Friends and neighbors
gathered for this festive occasion,
hosted by his daughters, Bonnie
Hodge and Carol Nivens.
A delicious luncheon was served
followed by the traditional cake and
ice cream.
Very happy birthday wishes go
out to you, "Cubby."
Happy Birthday wishes go out to
a former resident of Dungannon, in
the person of Hazel Webster, who
will celebrate her 90th birthday. On
May 1, Hazel will be honored at
Maitland Manor, between the hours
of 2 and 4 pm.
A celebration was held in Blyth
on Saturday, Apr. 24 to honor the
50th wedding anniversary of Doris
and George Cowan. George served
as lay - minister for Dungannon and
Nile United Churches from 1979 to
1982.
Daughter Kathleen, along with
sons Ted, Ken and Greg and their
families presented a family history
program, which . was followed by
dancing to the music of a country
and western band, A buffet lunch
was served at 11 p.m.
Among those in attendance were
Wilfred and Marjorie Pentland of
Dungannon, along with Marjorie's'
daughter Norma and Hugh Crockett
Of Ingersol, and Nellie and Gary
Clayton of Belgrave;

Eight tables were filled for the
weekly euchre party on Apr. 14 at
the Seniors Hall: Finishing in the.
winners' circle were Helen Russell,
Muriel Moffat, George Cardiff,
Fred Crawford and Eric McNee.
. On Apr: 21, a pot luck supper
preceded the weekly party, com-
mencing at 6:30 pm. Twenty eight

The card party got under way at 8
p.m. with 13 tables filled and

Saturday, Apr. 17 was the date of
the monthly euchre tournament
sponsored by the Dungannon
Agricultural Society.
Seventeen tables'were filled at the
opening hand. At the close of play,
the first place team consisted of
Ralph Curran and Tim McLelland.
Unusual as it sounds, there was a
three - way tie for second and third
places amongest.the teams of Don
and Linda Curran, Judy Sproul and
Els�(e Pannabecker, and. Carol Hop-
per and Susanne Pollock. Linda
Curran was this month's winner of
the special contest.
This tournament brings to a close
the monthly tournaments sponsored
by the Agricultural Society. See you
next season.
Plans are .well under way for the
semi-annual Flea Market on May
15 watch for further details.

The regular service of worship
was held in Dungannon United
Church on Sunday, Apr: 24 under
the leadership of Rev. Orilla
Bogart.
The sermontheme was based on
the scripture found in Luke 24;
verses 13 to 35, which tells the
story of how Jesus appeared to the
two disciples on the road to Em-
maus.
Next Sunday, May 2 will mark
the 138 . th anniversary of the Dun-
gannon United Church. Guest
speaker will be Rev. Robert Roberts
of Ridgetown,'formerly of Dungan-
non.

Stewards of Dungannon United
Church, which was held Apr. 25 in.
the church. Everyone left the 5 and
7 p.m. sittings very well satisfied.
The stewards gratefully ack-
nowledge the continuing support of
the commnunity and surrounding

Ten members of the Dungannon
Nile UCW met in the Nile United
Church on Tuesday afternoon, Apr.
20.
President Donna Young led in the
opening with Christ's Call repeated
in unison. Gloria Pearson based her
message on scripture taken from
Matthew 10: verse 31, -" God sees
the little sparrow fall." Louise
Brindley assisted Gloria, and
keeping with the same theme of
Spring and Easter, spoke on the
Jack Miner's Migratory Bird
Sanctuary in Kingsville.
Roll call was answered by and
Easter verse and items were
received for camp Menesetung, and
the Bake Less Bake Sale.
The secretary's and treasurer's
reports were read and approved. An
amusing quiz was 'led by Louise
Brindley on "Sweets" the names of
candy.
Beth Rutledge and Joan Dougher-
ty served as hostesses for this
meeting.
Lottery winners
Last week's winners in the Ripley
District Lions Club cash calendar
draw were Bruce and Doris McCall,
Brussels; Robert Aitchison, Luck -
now; Marion Gamble, Ripley; Jim
