Taylor and Michael Mali par-
ticipated in the Regional Canadian
Chess ChallenSe on Apr. 4 in Lions
Head. The boys played against
other children their age hoping to
win and qualify for the Ontario
tournament.
Both boys played well, with
Michael finishing third in the Grade
4 division and. Taylor second in the
Grade 7 division. Taylor qualified ..
to compete in the provincial chess
championship in Toronto on Apr.
17. This- event was sponsored by
the Chess 'n Math Association.
Although Taylor did not qualify. for
the national tournament, he played
several close matches and met
many new friends. Taking part in:
this tournament with the 300 other
students from.across'Ontario was a
great experience for Taylor.
Blanche and Jack Needham and
Ira and Elizabeth Dickie have
returned home again after spending
their winter. in the south.
Margaret MacDonald of Sarnia
visited on Saturday with Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Needham and Mr. and
Mrs. Ira Dickie.
Sunday dinner guests with Ira and
Elizabeth were Walter and Janet
Dickie, James and Jacob and John
Wilsdn.
Jack and Blanche 'were Saturday
evening dinner guests with Jane and
John Stryker of Auburn.
