Volunteers enrich lives
of Pinecrest residents
April 18 W 24 is Volunteer Week
and an opportune time for the
residents at Pinecrest Manor Nur-
sing Home to extend their thanks to
all the volunteers in this com-
munity.
Pinecrest has in excess of 60
volunteers who donate their time,
either on an individual or group
basis, to enrich the residents' lives.
Mondays and Fridays are .usually
set aside for Old Tyme Music
groups.
Their spiritualneeds are fulfilled
by area ministers taking turns con-
ducting Sunday services on the
premises, as well -as performing
different memorials and com-
munion, in addition to their in-
dividual visitation.'
Service clubs generously donate
various items or money to the
residents' council fund. These funds
are used to take them for a horse
and wagon rides or use local
transportation to get them around.
The large screen TV with the
recently added telecaption allows
them to enjoy more programs and
movies.
Community groups provide enter-
tainment such as square dancing,
Scottish dancing, and sing -a -icings.
The. community Palliative Care
group is always there giving of
their time and care.
Pinecrest residents truly ap-
preciate these VERY SPECIAL
PEOPLE! Shake a volunteer's hand
this week and let them know they
are the backbone of this com-
munity.
