The Lucknow Sentinel, 1993-04-21, Page 15St. Catharines woman visits '1 Janie Hamilton of Lucknow and Betty Hamilton of St. Catharines spent Easter with•Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr. Winnifred Percy returned home from Sinicoe where she spent a while 'with Mr. and Mrs. Don Bertrand and family. Ina Schoffer of London was a recent visitor with Mr. and Mrs. Bill MacPherson. Doug McEwan returned home after having surgery in Wingham and District Hospital. Easter visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Doug McEwan were Jean Cook and family of St. Thomas, Anne Ander- son of Lucknow, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mc,Ewan, Joy Foran and Duncan McEwan. Paster and Mrs. Marvin Christen - .ser, -left on Monday to make their home in Montreal with his mother Esther Christensen. They will be greatly missed here but we wish them the best in the years ahead. Sympathy is extended to Verna Marshall of Fisherman's Cove in the death of her sister after a lengthy illness. Kay Thacker attended the funeral of Ruth Leonard at Kitchener. She was Verna Marshall's sister. Glen Haldenby visited with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mel .Dahmer at Millarton on Sunday. People from this area were enter- tained at WDSS at their presen- tation of the . Wizard. of Qz. The students did •.a remarkable job of acting and singing their way through the familiar musical. We can be proud of Kinlough natives who took part. Rollcall.was answered with a joke and payment .of fees. Betty Smith read the minutes and financial report. The Holyrood Institute has been active for 83 years. A lot of research is being doneand ques- tions were answered. A quilt is being made for Par- ticipation Lodge and information was given about the Lodge. A plate was on display for the 100th year of the Women's Institute, followed by a questionnaire. A letter from the FWIO board was reach.
