They're back from Texas
Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan
returned home on Tuesday after
spending 51 months in Texas. They
visited in Victoria, Texas with Mr.
and .Mrs. Forrest -Gilley, Mr. and
Mrs. John Jiles, Mr. and Mrs.
James Knudsen, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn
Pierman, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse
Ingram, Mr: and Mrs. Elmer Wylie,
and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Creacy and
granddaughter Hope, of Houston,
Texas.
On the way home they visited
with some former. Mennonites of
this area who are living in Texas:
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stotzfur, Mr.
and Mrs. Isarel Albrecht and Mr.
and Mrs. Arran Showalter.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sleightholm
were Easter Sunday visitors with
her brother Gordon Bolton of Tees -
water. •
Janice Davis, Mark and Scott of
Windsor, Wayne and Beth Farrier,
Amy and Kim of Guelph were
Sunday visitors with Agnes Farrier.
Congratulations. to Murray and
Judy Lyons on the birth of a son on
Apr. 10 at St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
Whitechurch UCW
The Whitechurch UCW held their
Apr. 7 meeting at the home of
Pauline Adams. The topic was the
church in society, with Mildred
McClenaghan and Alice Moore as
leaders.
Mildred opened with a poem on
spring. Scripture was taken from
the Gospel of St. Matthew. Agnes
Farrier played the Old Rugged
Cross while. Alice and Mildred read
the verses.
Both ladies gave various readings.
Rollcall was answered by 10
members, giving an Easter verse.
Evelyn Gibb gave the financial

Whitechurch WI
The Whitechurch Women's
Institute held their annual meeting
on Apr. 14 with a noon pot Luck
lunch followed by the meeting.
President Marjorie Wall opened
the meeting in the usual way fol-
lowed by a poem on .spring.
Jean Tiffin read the minutes. A
dessert euchre is planned for Apr.
26 and Jean Ross and Jean Tiffin
reported some details on a planned
bus trip in June.
Mrs. Wall conducted an oral contest.
Officers for the new year are
mainly the same with the secretary -
treasurer being split between Jean
Tiffin as secretary, and Evelyn
Gibb as treasurer.
Norma Rintoul installed the of-
ficers. The new programs will be
made up on Apr. 27 at 7 p.m. at the
home of Norma Rintoul.
Whitechurch Penny Pinchers
The Whitechurch Penny Pincers
have had several meetings where
they have looked at warranties on
different purchases. A film was
shown on consumer complaints,
They learned from this what steps
can be taken if a product is faulty
and still under warranty.
Karen Lubbers showed" some
products , which use excess pack-
aging.
On Apr. 3 the group went to
Suncoast. Mall in Goderich to put
their knowledge about shopping to
use.
Stitchery club
holds meeting
The Donnybrook 4-H stitchery
club held their first meeting at the
home of June Robinson on Apr. 9.
President for this club is Simone
Bleeker, vice president Charlotte
Drennan, treasurer Jennifer and
Patricia Robinson and the secretary
and press reporter positions are
going to be revolving.
Youth leader Ruth Anne Durnin
led in a game in which members
were to guess different materials
needed for stitchery and then
everyone chose an item and they
were to be called that. instead of
their real name for the rest of the
meeting. Two guests came in to
help members start their cross stitch
projects. Faye and Margaret Hil-
debrand displayed different projects
they had completed.
Everyone started the project of
their choice with enthusiasm. The
"experts" really helped members get,
started. The club members say
thanks for all their help and the
donation of the embroidery floss.

Smyth, Simone Bleeker; Charlotte
Drennan, Ruth Anne Durnin, Kim
Fielder, Heather, Jennifer and
Patricia Robinson.
