mill changes this week
BUSINESS BEAT

Mark Stever, a former Drayton
man who recently took up residence
in Whitechurch, is the new majority
owner and manager of the Lucknow
Feed Mill Inc., previously known as
Martin Feed Mills.
Mr. Stever, along with part
owners Ken Bridge and Alec Mar-
tin, took possession on Monday.
The business will still be sup-
plying Martin feeds as an
authorized dealer for the area. Mr.
Stever said one area they are
looking to improve upon is the
dairy division, where a new line of
pre -mixes and a top dress will be
added immediately. The expertise
of Larry Kupecz, a nutrition consul-
tant, will be available for dairy herd
service and problem solving.
Mr. Stever is no stranger to the
farming industry or mill operations.
He ' was raised on a farm and
graduated in 1982 . from the
Ridgetown College of Agriculture
Technology. His past employment
was centered around feed com-
panies and programs. For the past
nine years he Was assistant manager„
andsales person . at the - Drayton
Feed Mill.
Mr.. Stever believes in the team
approach to providing quality and

Other than Kirk Ferchuk, the rest of
thestaff remains the same. Kirk
will continue his association with
Martin Feeds.
A community -minded individual,
Mr. Stever has been active with
Junior Farmers, Kinsmen, Optimists
and 'the Christian Reform Church.
He enjoys playing ball and hockey.
He said, •"The good mill facilities
and equipment will be utilized to
the best we can." The process to
purchase the`business started in July
and nt w' that it has come to
fruition, Mr, .Stever believes that it
is a positive move that ownership
and decision making for the
business is now back in Lucknow.
