Don and Jean Ross visited on
Saturday with Bqb and Lois Ross,
and Alexander of Waterloo.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lougheed of
Niagara Falls, and Joan Fisher of
Waterloo were weekend guests with
Bill and Kathy Gibson.
Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Winger,
Lowell and Laura of Ethel, along
with a Japanese friend were visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Laidlaw.
Clifford Laidlaw and Bruce
McKenzie of Lucknow attended the
funeral of Bruce's sister-in-law at
Mount Forest on Thursday.
A community shower was held
Thursday evening in the hall for
Cathy Dow, bride-to-be. Margaret
Jamieson was M.C. for a program
including contests, skits and a piano
solo by Corey Rintoul.
Jessie McGee read the address to
the bride and 'she was presented
with many gifts from neighbors and
friends. Cathy fittingly replied and
lunch and social time brought the
gathering to a close.
Anne McCosh and Mary Anne
Kukoly of Purple Grove visited in
London last Thursday with Helen
Smith and Roy and Reta Webster.
Gladys Arnold, Don McCosh and

Barbershop Harmonairies in Mount
Forest last Saturday.

Bridge was ring bearer and Rebecca
flower girl. Mr. and Mrs. Pope will
reside in Halifax. John is in the
Navy.

It's science fair time again

Well, spring break is over and the
LDCS . students are back to the
books.
"Mom! I need my bristolboard
today! Where is my information? I
need more pictures!" It's science
fair project time. All thestudents
have been working ' hard on their
projects. Their topics range from
smoking, to friction; to yams, to
mirrors. This year the sixth,
seventh, and eighth graders set up
their projects on Apr. 5. The school
is open for anyone who wants to
see them.
How is maple syrup made?
Where does it come from? If you
ask a fust or second grader these
questions, they'll be able to answer
knowledgeable. On, Monday,, Apr.
5, they went to Robinson's Maple
LDCS EXPRESS
Products to see how maple syrup is
made and also • learned the history
of maple syrup.
The Grade 3/4 and 5/6 classrooms
will be Filled with "famous charac-
ters". As a special twist to their
book reports, the third, fourth, fifth,
and sixth graders are dressing up as
a character from the book they
read.
The seventh graders are doing
reports, too, only they're doing
theirs in French. Each student chose
'an animal to do a research report
on. The animals include the loon
and the lynx, to the porcupine and
the skunk.
