It was standing room only as the Legion Hall was filled to capacity to enjoy first refreshments and then a lively program of jokes, step - dancing, music and dancing. Garry Ballagh, representing Prime Time Wingham, along with Janice Ballagh at the piano, the famous Frank Leahy and a young step dancer Amy Scott, of Teeswater . opened the program. They were In town to entertain and to promote Prime Time now entering its third year. Gord's Old Tyme Band provided some rousing music for the crowd, and the Lucknow Scottish Dancers turned Irish for the afternoon. It was an unsurpassed success for the seniors' club who were a little overwhelmed to say the least when they saw the crowd that gathered. Quilters learn to make fabric pocket books Barbara deBoer presided for the Five Star Quilters Guild March meeting held at the Luck - now Town Hall. Fifty-four ladies answered the rollcall with show and tell. "A quilt in a day" was a beautiful display of colour and design. Mrs. deBoer and Mona Tunney taught fabric pocket books to the class that kept 24 sewing machines buzzing. Miniature quilts will be taught at the next meeting, in Teeswater on April 28, by Betty Armstrong and Nellie Brock. Bring material for these mini quilts. Mirror quilts will be demonstrated in the near future. Anne Hawkins and her commit- tee will choose the theme for next year's quilt block. Caroline Menary has the Guild quilt set up at her home. Quilters are welcome. The block lottery for April is spring flowers in soft colors. & bus will take`interested— quilters to a show on May 1 at Scarborough and Brampton.
