Unionized
workers get
pay increase .
CONTRACT
r Unionized workers at the county
homes for the aged in Wiarton and
Walkerton have a two-year contract,
but it comes 15 months after their
last contract expired..
The deal gives members of local
210 of the Service Employees'
Union a 4.5 per cent increase
retroactive to 1992 and a one per
cent increase for 1993.
"Why didn't we follow through
with arbitration?" asked Lucknow
reeve Stuart Reavie. But Homes
chair Ann MacKay said most set-
tlements through arbitration have
been in the seven per cent range.
Council was told the increases in
the new contract are in line with
agreements for other county
departments.

I may not have the certificate, but

Passmore remembers the old days
when he first began his business,
and is quite proud of how far the
business has come.
"When I think back to when I
started and now, it's incredible how
things have gone," said Passmore.
"I have even considered plans of
expanding this operation some day
in the future."
Passmore said the most gratifying
aspect of his business is in hearing
that people are catching fish with
his flies. It's not that he doubts it,
but he said. that it was always nice
to hear the stories.
"It makes me feel great," said
Passmore. "It drives me to tie more
flies. Plus, I told myself 12 years
ago that I was finished punching a
clock."
