Kinlough WMS The Kinlough WMS met on Wed- nesday afternoon at the home of Bessie Maulden: Betty Bushell presided and gave a reading on spring'followed by a hymn and then KINLOUGH by May Boyle the business.- The usiness.The rollcall was answered with a Bible verse containing the word green as it was St. Patrick's Day. Marilyn Reid read the devotions on love, prayer and sin. Questions were answered in group's. on Knowing God and refraining from sin. She read a passage on being a true friend. Betty Bushell led in a study from the Glad Tidings and had references centered around the churches in solidarity. Barbara -Bushell read a story about serving and Betty gave a prayer andread three poems entitled Prayer, Springtime and Human Beings and read about the, first Presbyterian. Elder. A Bible quiz was conducted and a Bible story read, comparing men and women in, the bible to our present day men nd women. The Lord's prayer and a hymn closed the meeting. Refreshments were served followed by a time of fellowship. The maximum assistance availabiz under the program is $6;500 per applicant. McDonald f OBITUARIES Ripley, formerly of Lucknow and Huron Township, died at the Kin- cardine Hospital on Mar. 17, 1993 at' the age of 92 years. She was a member of the Ripley United Church, • • The former Evelyn Ruth Hooey was born on Mar. 11, 1901 in Huron Township. She was a daughter of 'the late William and Susan (Rutherford) Hooey. Mrs. McDonald is survived by one son, Grant and his wife Barbara McDonald, of Ripley; and three grandchildren, Pamela, Peter and Paul McDonald all of Ripley. Also left to mourn her passing -are a sister Verna Finlayson of Ripley, brother Elmer Hooey^ of Lucknow and a sister-in-law Mayme Hender- son of Lucknow. • Mrs. McDonald was predeceased by her husband Murdoch, in 1986, brothers Lorne, Mervin and Stuart, and sisters Alva Srneltzer and Blanche Pollock. Visitation was at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley, where the service was conducted on Mar. 21 by Rev. V. Wilkie of the Ripley United o ve yn • u 1 cDonald, • Church.
