Day of Prayer service this year.
Si. Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church at Kingsbridge hosted the
World Day of Prayer on Friday.
Mar. 5. The theme was People of
God: Instruments of Healing.
CWL president Delores Van Osch
welcomed everyone giving a bit of
background on the country of
Guatemala as the women of that
country prepared this year's
program.
Connie Osborn of Goderich was
the guest speaker. She asked "how
can we be instruments of healing"
in a world where there is so much
pain, suffering, misery and grief?
We're repulsed by wars, killings,
torture and starvation. People are

The Kingsbridge St. Joseph's
Catholic Women's League met on
Mar. 1 in the church hall.
Jennifer Dierolf from the Win-
gham and District Community
Living Association gave a talk and
slide presentation on their programs
for' the developmentally han-
dicapped.
New business centered on
amendments to the CWL of
Canada's constitution and bylaws.
Nomination forms for the new
CWL executive are available from
the notnination committee of Marie
Miltenburg, Betty Van Osch, and
Loretta Doherty. Election of of-
ficers will take place at the April
meeting.
A donation box is set up at the
back of the church for the St. Vin-
cent d'Paul food bank from now
until Easter.

ideas of how we should take ad-
vantage of opportunities to touch
other people's lives and to be
"God's people: Instruments of
healing."
Churches taking part in the
devotions were North Ashfield,
Trinity. United, Dunganndn, Nile,
Donnybrook, St. Augustine and
Kingsbridge. P
Kingsbridge's organist Laurie
Dalton and singers Cecilia Milten-
burgy Shirley Martin and Laurie
Dalton welcomed everyone with
their singing. Devotional hymns
were Help Us to Help Each Other,
Lord; Take my Hands; Prayer of St.
Francis; Here I am Lord, and Be
Not Afraid.
A time of fellowship was enjoyed
at the close of this special program.
Next year the World Day of
Prayer will be at the Ashfield Pres-
byterian Church.
Mrs. Menary is host for WI
The St. Helen's Women's
Institute held their Curator's
meeting on Mar. 9 at Caroline
Menary's. Wilma Higgins, Huron
West District president, brought
greetings.
Following the usual opening,
eight members and one visitor
answered the rollcall by naming a
former landmark which has now
disappeared.
The Sunshine Sister banquet will
be held in April with group five in
charge. The executive meeting for
Huron West District will be held in
Belgrave Apr. 5, at 1:30 p.m.
Muriel Moffat is to bring in a
slate of officers for the April
meeting.
Janet McPherson had antique
books, dating back to 1889, on
display. A history of the . Anglican
Church at St. Helen's was given by
Edith Cooper.
Junior WI enjoys facials
The March: meeting of the Luck -
now Junior Women's Institute was
held on the evening of the ninth.
Members first stopped off at Image
Impact for either a .facial given by
owner Vicky Morrison or a
manicure by Darlene Kikkert.
After everyone felt a little
pampered, the rest of the meeting
took place in the basement of the
Town Hall. Each member learned
to make a spool roll trimmed to
look like an Easter Bunny.

Members were reminded to think
of ideas for future programs to
bring to next month's meeting. The
plays available at the Blyth Festival
this year were discussed but no
decision was made. A letter was
read informing the club that the
Bruce County Dairy Princess would
be available to give a presentation
on the uses and nutritional value of
milk should the club desire. The
program for the April meeting has
not yet been finalized.
