Atom B's end series in second place tie
Last Wednesday, the Atom house end the second period tied at four,

Strong fore -checking and back -
checking against Hanover has given
Lucknow two wins so far in their
Pee Wee "A" series.
On Mar. 4 Lucknow took the lead
on a goal by Craig Moffat, his first
of four for the evening, assisted by
Jonathan McKinnon and Dennis
Lubbers. Lucknow's second goal
came from . Johnathon Chilton's
hard shot, assisted by . Dale
Courtney.
Persistent fore -checking paid off
for McKinnon in the second period
as he scored when Lucknow was
short-handed as did Moffat.
Going into the third period with a
lead of 4 to 1, Lucknow played
strong and netted three more goals.
The second game was in Hanover.
The score remained close until the
third period. Then with super effort
Lucknow was able to score a
couple of short-handed goals for a
final score of 6 - 2 for Lucknow.
Lucknow plays at 5 p.m. on Fri-
day in. the Young Canada Tourna-
ment in Goderich.,

Wingham scored but Lucknow
was again up by weafter Andy
Evans took control of the puck
behind the Wingham net and passed
out front to Peter Nadasdy who one
timed it into the net. -
Steve Hare's shot found the fat
comer of the net, assistedby Jeff
Havens and VanDiepenbeek to add
to the lead before . Wingham, was
able to score.
In the third, VanDiepenbeek
scored twice, one an unassisted
effort that he put in the bottom
corner and he earned his hat trick
with a goal assisted by Andy Evans.
Wingham scored once more
before the final whistle as Lucknow
doubled them by a 6 to 3 score in a
well played game.
With this win Lucknow ended the
series in a tie for second place.

Atom A's see action
in Brussels tournament
Last Tuesday, the Lucknow Atom
"A" team travelled to Howick for
the second game of the three game
series, Howick having won theiifst.
Howick jumped into an early lead
and by the end of the first were
ahead by three until an unassisted
goal by Jeff Andrew in the second
put Lucknow on the scoreboard.
Howick scored again in the third.
Late in the period, Conor
McDonagh, assisted by • Chris
Hackett and Chris Wainwright
scored a lone goal for Lucknow as
they were defeated in the game and
series, two games to none.
Final score Howick 4, Lucknow

Brussels Tourney
On Saturday, Lucknow partici-
pated in the Brussels Tournament.
Their first game was against
Bayfield.
The first period ended -in a score-
less tie. In the second, Lucknow
exploded with five goals and it
wasn't until late in the third that
Bayfield hit the scoreboard.
Shooters for Lucknow were Jeff
Andrew with two goals and two
assists, Steve Hare with one goal
and one assist, Conor McDonagh
and John VanDiepenbeek with one

On Sunday morning the squad
played their second game against
Milverton.
Milverton scored twice in the first
and added one more in the second
before Lucknow was able to break
thru their defence. '
Lucknow scored twice in the third
period to tie the game and it looked
like overtime until a goal by
Milverton in the last minute put
Lucknow out of the tournament.
Scoring points for Lucknow were
Conor McDonagh with two goals,
Rob McGee with one goal, Jeff
Andrew with two assists, and
Jordan Hamilton, Nick Mann and
John VanDiepenbeek each with one
assist.
Final score Milverton 4, Lucknow
