Rev. and Mrs. Jack Whytock, Ian,
Alistair and 'Andrew of Monkton,
New .Brunswick arrived Thursday
evening to visit with his parents Mr.
and Mrs. Carmen Whytock. Jack,
Nancy and baby Andrew will fly to
North Carolina this week on church
affairs while Ian and Alistair remain
• with their grandparents.
Whitechurch WMS
Janet Cook of Lucknow was
hostess for the Whitechurch WMS
meeting on Feb.. 17.
Eileen Moffat and Mrs. Cook
were the leaders. Mrs. Cook opened
the meeting with a short reading
from The Record. The Bible study
was the litany' ofthe quilt. Mrs.
Moffat read the scripture and fol-
lowed with prayer.
Mrs. Cook introduced Sandy
Luchies of. Lucknow who spoke on
their years working in a men's
house in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and
giving them Christian guidance.
The rollcall was answered with a
Valentine verse.
Mary Simpson read the minutes.
The visiting committee for next
month is Mary Simpson and Jean
Ross. World Day of Prayer will be
held Mar. 2 at 2 p.m. in Chalmers
Presbyterian Church.

Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce is
seeking the public's assistance in
the investigation of a Fail to
Remain Fatality which occurred in
the City of Owen Sound 20 years
ago.
The Owen Sound Police Service
report that on Dec. 9, 1972, at
approximately 6:30 p.m. Marilyn
Ringel was walking her daughter'
Tammy Mary Louise Ringel, who
was in a baby stroller, along 7th
Ave. East in -the 1700 block. They
were proceeding north along the
shoulder of the road when a south-
bound auto struck the baby stroller
in front of 1727 7th Ave East. the
child was rushed tor hospital, but
passed away shortly after arrival..
The Ringel infant was only one
year old.
The suspect vehicle was described
as a large dark car, with square tail
lights. It may have been a Ford
product. Rust and paint chips off
the vehicle were recovered at the
scene of the accident. Police are
asking for. any new information to
assist them with the investigation,
which is still outstanding after 20
years.

ciously volunteered to campaign for
the March of Dimes in our village,
many thanks. They are Gwen
Caesar, Kelly Brindley and Joanne
Wilkins. We are happy to report
that over $180 was raised for this
most worthy cause.

Thirty-seven present and former

United Church Women's group
gathered at the Candlelight Restaur-
ant on Feb. 18 for a delicious
luncheon.
A musical blessing was offered as
the ladies blended their voices
together in thanks to God. Each,
lady present introduced herself and
the secret sisters' names for 1992
were revealed. New -secret pals'
names for 1993 were then selected.
A group photograph of the
assembled members was taken by
photographer Mac Campbell of
Goderich.
.Thirty years ago, in 1963, a simi-
lar photo was taken. This photo was
passed amongst the ladies for their
personal viewing.
The UCW benediction andprayer
brought this delightful afternoon to
a close.
Seniors news
Feb. 17 saw seventables filled for
the weekly euchre party held at the
Senior's Hall here in the village. At -
the close of play the declaredwin-
ners for the evening were Lynda
McNee, Rita Howard, Carman
Pollock, and loe Courtney. Con-
gratulations'everyone.
Church news
Rev. Orilla Bogart led the service'
of worship held at the Dungannon
United Church on Feb. 21, with
Bernice Gross serving as organist.,
The sermon theme was based on
scripture taken from Matthew 17 -
verses 1-9, which tells the story of
the transfiguration of Jesus, and
how he instructed the disciples not
to revealwhat they had seen until
He was raised from the dead. ,
The Lenten Bible Study will
commence Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at
the manse. Please accept this invita-
tion to attend.
