Brookside Public School's Pollu-
tion Solution Club has drawn strong
interest from the Grades 3 to 6
students. Formed. in 1992, the club
stresses recycling but is basically
designed to do whatever they can to
protect the environment.
. . Members of the club have
become , involved in bringing
litterless lunches to school and hope
in the spring to do some planting
around Brookside.
Their latest project was making
Bluebird houses by recycling wood.
Tony McQuail was instrumental in
the project corning to fruition. Mi.
McQuail hosted a workshop at his
farm where the wood was cut into
the proper size pieces. Last
Wednesday, the club met at the
school and completed the actual
construction.
Each club member will take one
Bluebird box home and the remain-
der will be donated to Cedarvale
Sanctuary.
Sheila Clarke, who leads the club,
said parent participation has been
excellent.
