Sunday, January 17 they all went to Kincardine for dinner in honor of Jim and Susan's 58th wedding anniversary which fell on January 18. Congratulations from all your Lucknow friends and neighbours. On January 23, a small family birthday party was held in the com- mon room of the Sepoy Apartments for family and friends of Mamie Henderson, who was celebrating her 95th birthday that day. Caroline Menary and Richard Grant were high players . during shoot play at the Drop in Centre on January 22. (Pat Livingston photo) OPP charge Kinloss man with firing: gun from road A 36 -year-old Kinloss man has been charged with firing a gun from the roadway after trying to shoot a wolf as it crossed County Road 6 in Huron Township from one field to another. The shots were fired while the man .was standing next .to his pick up truck-, stopped at the side of the road. It was reported too- Kincardine OPP by a Huron Township resident on Jan. 20 who had parked on the side of the road and saw it happen. Staff Sergeant Al Neville said hunters can't shoot from a vehicle, on a roadway or across a.roadway.. Empty Drumstick wrappers have been appearing in a Ripley variety store but no one has paid for the ice cream treats. The manager of the store told OPP he has found between 20 to 30 wrappers. OPP are, investigating it as a theft under $1,000. On Jan. 21 at 7 p.m.. a Point Clark woman was outside getting her dog when she heard •glass breaking. . She found a window in their garage had been broken but she didn't see anyone -around. OPP have no suspects and noth- • ing could be found to indicate how the window was broken. A 12 -hour suspension was issued by OPP on Jan. 22 after, a vehicle was found in a ditch on Concession 2 of South Durham Road in Kincardine Township. Volunteers will help police bridge communication gap Kincardine Police Services has developed an ethnic resource list. Chief Gerry Mann said the list is "to provide us with assistance on language and cultural matters." The list is made up of nine people who have volunteered to help the police in situations where language or cultural barriers may arise. "Through these volunteers, we've now increased our potential to communicate in at least 15 different languages," he said. Among the languages the police have access to are French, Greek, Norwegian, Polish and •Spanish. Police started seeking volunteers: in December and. am willing to accept any other volunteers inter- ested in helping the police. • Chief Mann said help from the volunteers will be kept confidential.
