Lancers take a win and tie
The Lucknow Lancers picked up
another win and a tie on the week-
end with a 7 - 2 thumping of
Teeswater and a 6-6 draw with
Lion's Head.
Chris Fryfogle backstopped the
Lancers for the win in Teeswater
while the sniper of all snipers
sparked the Lancer attack with yet
another goal. With Lancer Andy
Grazier. absent from the lineup, free
wheeling Scott Hackett took advan-
tage of the open ice and popped in
three goals for the locals. Brad
Priestap added one and defenceman
Rod Simpson and Dave Gibson
kept their scoring streak alive at
one goal every five games.
Sunday in Lion's Head, the
Lancers held a 6-3 lead' after two
periods and only with the acrobats
of Dean Lindsay were able to hang
on' for a 6-6 tie.
Hat -trick Hackett led the offence
again while Brad Priestap added
two more and Steve Simpson tallied
one.
The Lancers travel to Grand Val-
ley next Saturday night for the last
game of the regular schedule.
Novice down Howick 3-0
On January 21 the Lucknow
Novice A's hosted Howick in a
fast -paced game. Lucknow took a
3-0 lead after one period. Bob
Raymond opened the scoring, unas-
sisted. Stujrt Moffat scored assisted
•.icy Darlene Aitchison and Tim
Eadie scored with an assist to Bob
Raymond. '
Darlene Aitchison scored the only
goal of the second period, assisted
by Bob Raymond and Brian Stan-
ley. Rickey Andrew scored on an
assist from Russell Mann to make it
5-0 for Lucknow, before Howick
spoiled Blue's shutout bid with only
5:50 left, in the game., Jeff McNee
passed to Stuart Moffat and Stuart
completed the scoring with his
second goal of the game. Final
score Lucknow 6, Howick 1.
Lucknow vs Teeswater
On Saturday morning Lucknow
travelled to Teeswater and again
played a solid two way game.
Teeswater took a 1-0 lead at 6:35
of the first period on the pdwer
play. Stuart Moffat tied it up with
48 seconds left in. the first with an
assist from Russ Mann.
Teeswater scored' twice in the -
second period to lead 3-1 after two
° periods.
Lucknow came roaring out in the
third period with Ricky Andrew
scoring, assisted by Russell Mann
and Tim Eadie scored to tie the
game on assists from Stuart Moffat
and Darlene Aitchison.
Russell Mann capped the
comeback with 3:20 left assisted by
Jason Pentland to win the game.
Final score Lucknow 4, Teeswater
3. Lucknow has six wins and 1 loss
in 1993. Way to go team!

haystack. They really were ,playing with puck during. their match last .Saturday. ft was a close •
game with Lucknow winning 3-2 thanks to strong goaltending and outstanding defence In the last

Pee Wees hold on to take. 3-2 win ..
This past Saturday, ,the Pee Wee
rep team hosted Blyth.
Craig Moffat opened up the scor-
ing in the first with the assist going
to Brent Cameron.. Before the
period ended Blyth tied it up.
In the second period Blyth took
the lead 2-1, followed shortly by a
goal from C. Moffat, his second of
the game. The assist was earned by
Jonathan MacKinnon.
EE WEE
Entering the third period;- and
with the score tied, Lucknow gained
momentum resulting in the go-
ahead goal scored by Brent
Cameron and assisted by Jonathan
Chilton and MacKinnon.
With strong goaltending and'
outstanding defence in the last few
minutes of the game, the Lucknow
teanm;,w.as able to obtain Jhe win.
• Final score 3-2. A good, effort
was put .out by the whole team.
