The International Competition for
Television was held January 15 at
the New York Film Festival. In the
health and medicine category, Mary .
Anne (Alton) L.emtn ,'. won • the
bronze medal as producer, and
director for the film produced by
CBC on breast cancer.
There were eight tables of shoot
at the Drop in Centre last Friday.
Vera Purvis and Dave Swan took
the high scores, with Isobel
Kilpatick and Harry Lavis in low
—ton .Jim' Coupes had -the most
shoots.

Broome of Calgary spent time
visiting Ken, Mary and Greg
Scheerer of Goderich and Pam of
London during the holidays. They
also spent time with Tom, Rose and
Pat Broome, Diane and Dean
Duvall of Lucknow, and friends and
relatives in the area.
The highlight of their visit was
that it was a surprise for Jack's
mother, Freda Broome, of Bray
Lodge in Wingham. .

Reid McKim of 1877 Dauphin 0BITUARIES
Road, Ottawa, died at Riverside
Hospital, Ottawa, on January 13,
1993 following a courageous' 10-
year battle with cancer. u.. James Murray Cameron
In his 69th year Mr McKim was
a retired director of the Bureau of
Dangerous Drugs, National Health
and Welfare, a World War: II vet
'eran and a former Pipe Major of the
Kemptville Legion Pipe Band.
Born March 24, 1924, Mr.
McKimwas a son of the late Eliza-
beth and Emerson McKim.
Mr. McKim, is survived by his
wife Joy (nee Stewart); 'children
Carin Reiher (Mark) and Marc
McKim (Larrisa); and grandchildren
Matthew Reiher and Selena
McKim. '
He also leaves to mourn his pas-
sing a sister Mary Graham and a
brother Alan McKim.
Mr. McKim was predeceased by
his brother Dr. Jack McKim, . of
Lucknow.

Myrtle Annabel' Ferguson
Myrtle Annabell Ferguson, of
R.R. 1, Ripley, (Point_ Clark) died
in Kincardine Hospital on January
9, 1993 in her 79th year.
Mrs. Ferguson was a member of
the Pine River United Church:
A daughter of the late Robert and
Mary Elizabeth (Armstrong)
Wilson, she was born in Kincardine
on October 26, 1914. •
Mrs. Ferguson is survived by four„
sons: Clarke and Brenda of Point'
Clark, David of Brampton, Lynn
and ` Janice of Mississauga and
Murray and Susan of Huron Town-
ship; a brother Delbert WiI'son of
Point Clark, andnine grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her hus-
band John Ferguson and a. sister,
Marion Lackey. •

United Church conducted the ser-
vice at the • MacKenzie and
McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley,
on January 12.

James Murray' Cameron, of
Weston, Ontario, died Monday,
January 11, 1993, at Toronto.Gen-
eral Hospital, in his 60th year. Mr.
Cpmeren was born June 16, • 1933,
at Pine River, in Huron Township,
Bruce County, a son of Violet
Cameron and the late • Peter
Cameron.
He married Oral (Finlayson)
October 10, ,1959, in London. Mr.
Cameron was an employee with
The Royal Bank of Canada in
Ripley, Toronto, Hamilton, Dundas
Stratford, Sudbury and Weston
where he and M. s. Cameron have
resided for 24 years.
In the early 1970s, Mr. Cameron
was transferred to The Royal Bank
Main Branch, Toronto, as Foreign
.Bank Officer, dealing with : client
account 'and. securities services,
Illness forced him, to leave work
due to disability. •
. Mr. Cameron is survived by his
wife, Oral, and daughter Susan, of
Vancouver, B.C.; his mother Violet
Cameron of Pine River; brother
Gordon of Pine River, mother-in-
law Verna Finlayson of Ripley;
aunts Pearl, McDonald of Ripley
and Gladys Cameron of Kincardine.
Also survived by 13 nieces and
nephews, and 14 great nieces and
nephews, •
He, was predeceased by' his son
Scott, father Peter, brother, Delmer,
and nephew Bob...
A ' Masonic ` `Lodge service was
held January 14, at 9 p.m.
Rev. Norman Laird conducted the
funeral January 15, at 1:30 p.m.
